MAPPA's latest work, TV anime "To the Beasts Who Were Once Gods", Yuichi Nakamura as Kane, the hero's comrade-in-arms, and Mamiko Noto as Elaine!

Anime illustrations of two new characters from "To the Beasts Who Were Once Gods," which is set to be adapted into a TV anime in 2019, have been released.

Once upon a time to the beasts that were gods" by Meibii is a dark fantasy manga serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine (Kodansha).
The story is about a "pseudo-god soldier," a deformed soldier who has shed his human form and contributed to the end of a long-running war. They are unable to fit in with the peaceful world, and gradually come to be treated coldly as "beasts. This is a story about the beasts that were once called gods. The war creates a number of impermanence, extraordinary events, and sacrifices. The fierce battles between the "mimetic warriors" and the "beast hunters" are depicted with overwhelming reality and quality, and have gained popularity.
An anime adaptation has been announced for February 2019, directed by the director of the second and third seasons of "Hajime no Ippo" and the chief director of "Yuri! onICE", series composition and script by Shigeru Murakoshi, who worked on "Zombieland Saga" and "GARO Anime Series", and character design and chief animation director Daisuke Niinuma. The character design and chief animation director is Daisuke Shinnuma, who also worked on "Yuri! on ICE," "Zombieland Saga," and "In a Corner of the World," MAPPA is in charge of animation. Katsuyuki Konishi plays Hank and Ai Kakuma plays Charl.

The new anime illustrations of the two characters have been released, and it was announced that Yuichi Nakamura will play the role of Kane, the main character's comrade-in-arms, and Mamiko Noto will play Elaine, the engineer who created the "Mimigami Hyouhei".

Kane (CV: Yuichi Nakamura)
Formerly a member of the Northern Patria Union Army and vice-captain of the Pseudo-God Soldier Unit. He is a man who volunteered to become a pseudo-god soldier despite being a member of a prestigious aristocracy. He has a close relationship with "Hank," who was the commander of his unit.
Now that the civil war has ended and the world is at peace, he faces the "Pseudo-God Soldiers" in a different way from Hank.

The anime adaptation came at a time when the original story was about to begin to unfold in earnest. How do you reconcile the original and the anime version?
I am very much looking forward to seeing how the original version and the animated version will be reconciled and how the changes will be made.
I haven't actually heard anything about the staff or other cast members, so I'm looking forward to learning about them as well (lol).


■Elaine (CV: Mamiko Noto)
Dr. Elaine is a former member of the Northern Patria Union Army. She is an engineer who created the [Pseudo-God Warrior] through forbidden research in order to bring an end to the long war. The war situation has drastically improved thanks to the success of the [Mimetic God Warrior], but for some reason, she feels responsible for the [Mimetic God Warrior] in her own way.

The democratic nation of Patria was born on the continent of Patria.
The country was divided into the "Northern Patria Union" and the "Southern Patria Union" due to economic disagreements, and a long civil war has been going on. The Northern Patriots, driven into a corner by their inferiority, finally use forbidden technology to overthrow the Southern Patriots.
