Logitech releases four gaming headsets today, February 26! Larger drivers and new earpads improve sound quality and fit
Logitech released four products from its gaming brand "Logitech G": the "G933s" wireless headset and the "G633s," "G431," and "G331" wired headsets today, February 26 (Tuesday), at electronics retail stores and online sites nationwide.
Priced at an open price, the reference prices are 21,500 yen (excluding tax) for the "G933s," 17,880 yen (excluding tax) for the "G633s," 11,130 yen (excluding tax) for the "G431," and 9,130 yen (excluding tax) for the "G331" wired headsets.
The four products released this time all feature 50mm large-diameter drivers, with the higher-end models, "G933s" and "G633s," equipped with "next-generation PRO-G drivers. The G933s and G633s are equipped with the "next-generation PRO-G driver," which not only increases the diameter of the driver unit, but also includes a selection of components and sound balance tuning to support the driver unit. The company's acoustic team was in charge of sound tuning, and they focused on "conveying the correct sound to gamers" without unnaturally enhancing the low frequency range for the sake of power.
The G933s is a flagship model that supports USB/2.4GHz wireless connectivity. It is the successor to the previous "G933" model (released in 2015), with synthetic leather earpads instead of the mesh earpads of the "G933. By adopting soft materials, the new earpads do not feel constrictive even when side pressure is increased, providing a stable and stress-free fit. The change in material also reduces bass loss and improves the reproducibility of low frequencies.
The "G633s" is a USB connection model that omits the 2.4GHz wireless connection from the "G933s" and uses mesh earpads. The "G431" is a USB-connected model equipped with a regular 50mm driver instead of the PRO-G 50 driver. The "G331" is a basic model that only supports 3.5mm audio cable connection.
The G933s, G633s, and G431, which support USB connection, also support DTS Headphone:X 2.0 by connecting to a PC with Logitech's proprietary software "Logitech G HUB" installed. In addition to enjoying more realistic surround sound, users can accurately grasp the position of the other party by reproducing the sound image as it was designed to be reproduced.
In addition, the top two models, G933s and G633s, will support G LIGHTSYNC, a lighting function that can be customized from 16.8 million colors in conjunction with game music and action, and all models will feature a microphone with a flip-mute function.
At the product presentation for the media held on Wednesday, February 6, G Series brand ambassador Taiga Kishi took the stage. While playing a demo of "Fortnite," he said, "The larger driver diameter has stabilized the low frequency range, resulting in a well-balanced sound. Previous headsets gave the feeling of being potted in a large space, but with this new product, I feel as if I am surrounded by the game world, which made me rediscover what I can get and feel from my ears," he said, emphasizing the features of the new product and the importance of gaming headsets.
