Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" webcast program "Love Propaganda Conference" and official interviews with Daisuke Ono and Hiroshi Kamiya

Prior to the release of "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" Chapter 7 "Shinsei-hen" <Final Chapter> on March 1, 2019 (Friday), a special distribution program "Love Propaganda Conference Chapter 7" has been decided and distribution has started to delve into the appeal of this film.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" is a sequel to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," a remake of the classic "Space Battleship Yamato" that became a hot topic. As the title suggests, the film is inspired by the 1978 animated film "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love." Three years after Yamato completes its voyage to Iskandar, the threat of the battle nation of Gatlantis, the Imperial Star, looms over a recovering Earth, and the Yamato crew faces a new voyage to confront it. Prior to the theatrical screening on March 1, 2019 (Fri.), a special distribution program "Love Propaganda Conference Chapter 7," which delves into the charms of the film, has been decided and distribution has started. The program will not only look back on the previous six chapters, but also talk passionately about the seventh chapter, "Shinsei Arc," which will only be available here.

In addition, the first and second distribution will feature a special dialogue between Daisuke Ono, who plays Susumu Ancient, and Koichi Yamadera, who plays Abert Dessler.
And to commemorate the screening of Chapter 7, a special dialogue between Daisuke Ono and Hiroshi Kamiya, who plays Klaus Keyman, is shown. They talk about their feelings about the film, which is finally coming to a conclusion, and look back on the past. The official report has just arrived.

In preparation for the screening of "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" Chapter 7 "Shinsei-hen" (Final Chapter) on March 1 (Friday), we present a conversation between Daisuke Ono, who plays Susumu Koshino, and Hiroshi Kamiya, who plays Klaus Keyman.

───First of all, please tell us what you thought when you read the script for Chapter 7 "Shinsei Arc".

Ono: Mr. Fukui (Harutoshi) kept telling me, "The love between Ancient and Snow will be tested," and that's how far I've come. When I read the final script, it was a really hard journey, but I felt that it had paid off, or rather, I was glad to have made it this far.

Kamiya I try to unravel a work from the character's point of view, and "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" ("2202") is a story about a ship that in many ways has been overloaded with people's feelings and is now in a situation where it can no longer control its own course of action. There are parts of it that can't be helped, but I had the strong impression that it was kind of boiled down. It seemed to me to be a story about people who were at the mercy of Teresa's mysterious words. But when I got to this seventh chapter, I found that the contradiction was a contradiction, and the contradiction was a neat answer to people's doubts, to the direction they should go, and to the future they should pursue. Once again, I felt that Mr. Harutoshi Fukui and Mr. Hideki Oka, who created the story, and Director Nobuyoshi Habara, who put it together as a work of art, are amazing.

Kamiya──Can you tell us your impressions of the two actors, Ancient and Keyman?

Kamiya At first, Keyman's interests were aligned with those of Ancient times. Ancient had a larger mission, the role of making sure the Yamato sailed safely, which was also necessary for the mission that Keyman had to fulfill. He was also on the Yamato. Therefore, I think the composition of the relationship was such that they seemed to be helping each other, such as giving advice to the ancient one.

Ono: At first, he is just a military officer on the Yamato, but it was very interesting that he gradually became a member of the Yamato crew. The key man bears many things on his back. At first, he wasn't a character that would show it.

Kamiya I think the encounter with Dessler was a major turning point. Until then, he was more of an outsider. Even when Yamato was facing a crisis, there was a part of him that was somewhat optimistic, and in a sense, he was a "boring" character who was just playing a role.

Ono I wondered if it was because he had such a sadness about his past and his origins that he was able to look at the people around him so calmly.

Kamiya After meeting Death Rider, the character cannot remain the same as before. The decision-making process is left to the key man himself. His feelings become more blurred, and I really enjoyed playing that part.

Ono: To put it simply, I felt that he was cunning (laughs). (Laughs.) His humanity and muddiness came out more and more, and I felt that he was already the main character.

───Can you tell us about the highlights of the seventh and final chapter?

Kamiya From the key person's point of view, which will he choose, his mission or Yamato's fate?　Which will he choose? What will he ultimately accomplish when he is torn between the two? That is a major point.

Ono: I think fans are expecting that there will be scenes where the ancients will fight for their lives. Chapter 7 will be an all-out battle. The same thing happened in the old "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love". But this is "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" for the current era. At the end of the film, I think you will feel that that is why it is a "Shinsei-hen".

─ ─ Then, please give us a message from the two of you to the fans who will be watching this seventh chapter.

Kamiya "2202," which revived "Space Battleship Yamato" in the modern age with the best technology and staff, is coming to a conclusion. I thought it was a very brilliant ending. Please be a part of this great event.

Ono: I have traveled with Yamato since "2199" and have been able to come this far. I felt like I was being rewarded for that. I am glad that I have traveled this far. I hope you all will join us and witness it for yourselves.
