Based on the hit manga "Karei Kanojo no Jijo" (Boyfriend and Girlfriend Situation), which sold over 11 million copies in total, the TV anime "Boyfriend and Girlfriend Situation" was broadcast on TV Tokyo from October 1998 to March the following year. Director Hideaki Anno's anime adaptation of Masami Tsuda's popular girls' manga, which was serialized in Hakusensha's monthly magazine LaLa, became a hot topic for its detailed depiction of the emotions of boys and girls. Character designer and chief animation director is Teishi Hiramatsu, and the staff includes Kazuya Tsurumaki, Hiroyuki Imaishi, Akishi Saeki, Kazuhiro Takamura, and others.

The Blu-ray BOX will include all 26 episodes of the series, as well as rare footage that has not been included in the VHS and DVDs sold so far, such as the ending and scene excerpts that were used only for TV broadcasts, and footage used for recording at the time.
