TAITO released "Darius Cosmic Collection" for the Switch today, February 28 (Thursday), which includes all previous titles in the "Darius" series.

The "Darius" series was first introduced in 1986 as a side-scrolling arcade shooter game, and was known for its innovative design at the time, including a large chassis with three interconnected screens and a sound system with bass speakers built into the bench seat. The boss characters in the game, which were based on the motif of aquatic creatures such as coelacanths and sperm whales, are still popular today as synonymous with "Darius.

Darius Cosmic Collection" includes four arcade titles, including "SAGAIA," which is the first port of "Darius" and "Darius II" outside Japan. In addition, the special limited edition includes the four titles in the standard edition, plus five titles that have been released as home video games, including titles that have not been released in Japan or are currently difficult to obtain, for a total of nine titles. As an original feature of "DARIUS COSMIC COLLECTION," the arcade version of the title includes a ranking function that allows users to compete with other users online for scores, and a replay function that allows users to repeatedly replay and check their own and other top ranking players' games. Useful gadgets for strategy have also been added to the original off-screen game space.

Both the arcade and home version titles also allow you to save and load at any time, such as before a boss or when selecting a zone branch, so you can repeatedly practice stages you have difficulty with.
