Movie theater open! It might be fun to look for the original story of the film to be screened! Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" Loose Thoughts - Episode 5 "Surprise and Excitement

Episode 5 of the anime "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" was the Caro episode, and it was also the episode in which the movie theater on the outskirts of town that the five had worked so hard to restore was finally unveiled.

The five enjoy discussing what kind of movies to show, but when it comes to reviving the cinema, there are many things to do, such as deciding what to show, deciding the date, inviting the audience, advertising through posters and shell broadcasts, and so on.

With the help of Mr. Coda, the village mechanic, the five of them each look for a film they would like to show. It is surprising that Fina's taste in movies is so dark. Caro is unable to decide which movie she wants to show until the very end, but seeing Sonata trying her best, she searches for the answer while worrying. She says, "hijiki sandwiches taste better because we eat them together." Through Fina's words, Caro realizes that what she wants to convey is the thrill and excitement she felt when the five first found the cinema and Kineove.

The cinema named by the five is called "Cinema Colorful. The spacious seating area is designed for mermaids, so that the three children can watch a movie side by side in close proximity.

On the night of the new moon, the entire village gathered at the cinema to watch the movie that was contained in the first kine orb the five had found. Before the screening machine was repaired, all that was shown was a dancing mermaid, but when the machine was properly repaired, it was a great film about the friendship between two mermaids, with song, dance, and fantastic images. Mermaids swimming freely, colorful jellyfish and lights dance and dance in three dimensions in a dome-like space like a planetarium.

Perhaps one of the motifs of the Kine-Orb is "Over The Rainbow" sung by Judy Garland, the lead actress in the 1939 musical film "The Wizard of Oz. The background music evokes a characteristic melody, and the colorful rainbow crossing the clouds. And the best friend in the video, a mermaid girl, looks like Dorothy, the character Judy played in the film. It's a prewar film from the transition period from black and white to color, a film left behind in a nearly forgotten movie theater in the village of Parrelle, or rather, the perfect period for the subject matter of Kineove. Speaking of flying umbrellas, ...... is a good place to start, and if you are a film buff, you may find various motifs scattered throughout the film.

The feelings of the five people who saw the movie through to the end and successfully completed the screening could be felt through their sparkling eyes and the lingering longing on their backs.

Speaking of which, the ending theme "Shabon" for "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" has been played in solo versions sung by each of the five cast members in turn, but this Caro version completes the cycle. Since the cast consisted mainly of new voice actors, it was nice to hear them introduce themselves through their singing voices. Amane Shindo, who plays Caro, is 14 years old. I don't know how much she is conscious of bringing the character to life since this is her debut work, but I thought her singing voice had power and was very spontaneous.
