New PS4 commercial "Ganbatte 2-nin" airs nationwide today, March 8! Legendary goalkeepers Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi and Seigo Narazaki, who have just retired, will appear together in the commercial for the first time.
Sony Interactive Entertainment, Inc. announced today that it will air a new PS4 commercial featuring former Japanese national soccer team players Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi and Seigo Narazaki in the "Ganbatte 2-nin" episode nationwide from March 8 (Friday), 2012.
In this new commercial, Mr. Kawaguchi, a goalkeeper (GK) who has long been at the forefront of the Japanese soccer world, and Mr. Narazaki appear together for the first time! Now that they have retired from active soccer, they want to enjoy PS4 games together as much as they can in their new lives.
Spring is a time when many people start a new life, just like the two of them.
The message is that for those who have been hectic every day in preparation for a new environment, those who have worked hard at various things, and those who finally have time to relax and play games, they hope that after all their hard work, they will be able to enjoy a good time on PS4.
In addition, a making-of interview video was also released at the same time, which allows viewers to see the two of them more life-size! Kawaguchi says, "Games are one of the things we can all enjoy together," and Narazaki says, "I now understand why everyone around me is so into games. The video includes a variety of expressions and comments from these two, such as their innocent expressions as they get really into the game during the filming, and their high-fiving each other in a friendly way that makes it hard to believe that they are former rivals.
CM Story
The first scene takes place in the locker room of a stadium that the two are familiar with. The two are singing a nursery rhyme, "Haru ga Kitaeri (Spring is Here)," and reminiscing about their days of service and the games they had to endure during their active careers. When they met, they would say to each other, "Good job on your retirement! and "You too, right? Mr. Narazaki pulls out a PS4 controller from his bag, and Mr. Kawaguchi plays "Monster Hunter: World" with aplomb, successfully hunting down a monster! They rejoice with each other. The scene then took a turn. Mr. Narazaki came home with Ms. Kawaguchi. In the living room, Mr. Narasaki plays "KINGDOM HEARTS III" and "Fortnite," while Ms. Kawaguchi stands next to him and gives him instructions.
The relaxed couple, who have retreated from the front lines of battle during their active careers, are immersed in their casual wear and games.

Making Story
Surprisingly, this was the first time for the two to co-star in a commercial. During the filming, they seemed to be in perfect sync with each other as rivals who have fought together for many years. During the scene where they were entering their room, Ms. Kawaguchi showed her natural ability by saying "I'm home" even before opening the front door, and Mr. Narazaki couldn't help but make a crack about it.
Interview】 Q. How do you feel about appearing in this show ?
Q. How do you feel about your role in the film?
Kawaguchi: I was happy when I was asked to appear in the film with Shogo, and I was looking forward to it, but there was a bit of unknown about how it would turn out.
Narazaki: We quit our careers as soccer players at the same time, so I was honored to be asked to do this kind of work together, and I was looking forward to it. I knew you would come (laughs).
Q. What did you think when you were offered the chance to appear together?
Kawaguchi: In a sense, your working years are a battle. I was looking forward to playing a game with you after that battle, when you can relax a little. I think it would be interesting for soccer fans as well.
Narazaki: In the first place, I feel that something is not possible without the two of us, and if it were just me, it would probably be impossible (laughs).
Kawaguchi: I don't think we would have been able to make something like this without the two of us.
Q. What do you think of each other's performances?
Kawaguchi: We were able to act as we normally do. I'm usually the one who's out of line...I don't mean to be out of line, but Narazaki often interrupts me when I say things (laughs).
Narasaki: There's a scene today where you enter the front door. Even before he opened the door, he said, "I'm home.
Everyone: (laughs)
Narasaki: We were the only ones laughing. There was a space that only the two of us understood, and I felt that nothing had changed there.
Kawaguchi: "I'm home" was a line that didn't have to be said, but I thought to myself, "Oh, maybe I should put 'I'm home' in there," and when I was about to say it, I said it first (laughs).
Everyone: (Laughs)
Q. You are playing the game in the commercial.
Narazaki: I thought it would be fun if I got into it. I was not the one who was playing the game, so I thought that everyone else must have been enjoying the game in this way. I think I finally understand how they must have felt.
Kawaguchi: My first impression is that I was shocked by the images, or rather, I was surprised by the evolution of the game.
Narazaki: I'm a little concerned about "Fortnite," where you have to survive with 100 people. You're going to get beaten up pretty quickly, now...I guess.
Q. Is there any chance that you will get into gaming in the future now that you are retired?
Kawaguchi: I would like to find time to play games. I think that games are a social activity, something that can be enjoyed by everyone. I would like to increase the amount of time we can spend enjoying ourselves together, and in that sense, I would like to have that kind of time where we can all get together and have fun together at games.
Narazaki: I think it's a great tool for communication and fun for everyone. I have a little more time than when I was active, so I would like to actively play with my children.
Q. Do you play games together?
Kawaguchi: I think there is too much of a gap in our abilities now. We need to improve our abilities to be able to compete properly (laughs).
Q. If you played two games, who would be more aggressive?
Kawaguchi: The first time we shot the game, I was silent, so I think I would get into it more (laughs).
