Sony Interactive Entertainment (SEE) has released the latest information & screenshots for "Days Gone" for PS4, scheduled for release on Friday, April 26, 2019.

Days Gone" is an open-world survival action game that depicts the anguish, conflict, and struggle of survivors trying to survive as humans in the midst of a global pandemic.

Players take on the role of Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter, and journey through a beautiful and vast open field. The enemies include countless infected "freakers" who have no thoughts and have animal-like habits, infected animals such as wolves and bears that have gone berserk, and humans who are also survivors of the pandemic. The players will explore the field while battling and escaping from various enemies, and overcome crises by making full use of various weapons and tools created from obtained materials.

The latest information and screenshots of the game, which is scheduled for release on April 26 (Friday), have arrived!　In addition, we will also introduce the media demo event held on February 28 (Thursday).

-WORLD
The story takes place in the northwestern part of the West Coast of the United States. Two years have passed since a worldwide pandemic suddenly broke out.
Human society has collapsed and the population has plummeted.

A devastated world is infested with unthinking, animal-like infected people called "freakers.
The survivors vary from those who live in camps around the country to those who live as drifters (drifters).

Why did the pandemic suddenly occur? Who are the infected "freakers"?
This is a story of hope, conflict, and strife among survivors who try to live "according to their beliefs" as "human beings" under extreme conditions.

-CHARACTER
Deacon St. John" lost his beloved wife "Sarah" and once lost himself in the despair of a pandemic. In search of the meaning of life, he continues his journey as a bounty hunter with his partner "Boozer". On their journey, they meet various people and get caught up in conflicts, and the truth is revealed.

The Ripper
A cult group with the most dangerous orientation among the survivors. Despite having escaped the infection, they treat Freaker like a god and want to become "free" from suffering like Freaker. They are trying to get closer to that existence by carving scars on their own bodies.

The enemies that attack are the "freakers" who swarm in large numbers, infected animals that have gone berserk, and humans who have survived the pandemic. This world is always full of danger.


-FREAKER.
Freakers" are infected people who have no thoughts and have animal-like habits. Each type has different characteristics. There are also infected animal freakers. In addition, there are many other types, including more powerful types, that have been confirmed to exist.

Swarmers
Swarmers are adult male and female freakers. They are sensitive to sunlight and become more violent at night.

Newt
Small freakers. They do not usually attack, but will attack when Deacon's strength is low. They attack when they enter the roofs of their territory.

Screamers are mutated female swarmers, and their screams attract freakers in large areas.

Bleacher
Bleachers are white mutated swarmers. They are stronger than swarmers and more difficult opponents to defeat

Strategy is paramount to destroying large numbers of freakers!
Freakers often attack in packs.
For example, if you challenge a large number of them with only one weapon, you will be killed. In order to eliminate this mass of freakers, you need to make effective use of traps such as bombs and items such as Molotov cocktails. In addition, sometimes it is necessary to use a motorcycle to fight while escaping from the hordes. Use all your wits and your strength to defeat all threats.

You can defeat a large number of freakers by setting up timed traps or throwing Molotov cocktails. Also, if there are drums or tankers nearby, you can use items or guns to detonate them, etc.

Defeat the freakers and earn trust and bounty!
Deacon, a bounty hunter, can increase the trust level of each camp and earn bounties by completing missions requested by "camps" where survivors live in various locations. The missions include: "Burn down the freaker nests near the camps to exterminate the freakers," "Search for a certain "thing" or "person"," "Search for a certain "thing" or "person"," and "Search for a certain "thing" or "person". The contents of the game vary from "to search for a certain "thing" or "person"," to "to destroy a wild thief" and so on. Campers can also earn bounties by handing over the "ears" of defeated freeloaders and "raw meat" stripped from defeated animals.

The situation varies greatly depending on the time of day and weather conditions, so even in the same situation, there are various strategies that can be used by different players.

In the game, the time of day and night, as well as weather conditions such as rain and snow, affect the rate and number of enemies that appear in the game. Poor weather conditions also affect the control of the motorcycle driven by Deacon.
Freakers become more active at night, more resistant to cold weather such as rain and snow, and more agile and even more frantic in their movements.

Use a variety of weapons and actions!
Crafting weapons and other items, exploring and acquiring skills are also important!
There are a variety of weapons, which you can not only steal or pick up from thieves, but also purchase with your bounty or combine items you own to create new weapons. Weapons range from weapons that break after a few uses to weapons suited for close combat and long-range combat.
There are also items that can be installed, such as bombs. The choice of weapons and items allows each player to fully enjoy his or her own survival lifestyle.
Deacons also have a wide variety of skills.
The strategy will vary depending on what skills are acquired and how they are used.

Players can create new weapons by combining items in their possession. For example, by crafting the items "nails" and "scraps" from a fallen "wooden bat," a more powerful "nail bat" can be created. Bat" can be created by crafting " nails " and "scraps" from " wooden bats" that have fallen down .

By examining the vehicles, you can obtain useful items such as ammunition and medical supplies. For example, obtained scraps can be used for multiple purposes, such as repairing motorcycles and equipment, and creating fighting weapons.

Bikes, the only means of transportation, can be upgraded!
Making effective use of your car is an important part of your strategy!
Bikes are the lifeline and the only means of transportation in this world.
Because of its small turning radius, it can navigate narrow and rough roads, and while driving, it can brake, rear brake, and drift. It can also be upgraded to your liking, increasing its performance as well as its appearance.
Choosing where to get off the bike is also important, as the bike also has the ability to resupply ammunition, plus a respawn point to resume if the Deacon is ever knocked down. Enemy personnel may target bike parts, so part of the strategy is to prevent them from being stolen.

DAYS GONE" media preview mini-report
On February 28 (Thursday), a "DAYS GONE" media trial event was held in Tokyo. At this event, they were able to play "DAYS GONE," which is still under development. During the Q&A session, Kei Urano, the localization producer of the game, and Hitoshi Tateyama, the localization specialist in charge of the game's script and storyline, were asked "What are the highlights of this game? In creating this story, we wanted to depict in a realistic way how the survivors would live after a pandemic destroyed human society.
