The official report has arrived. The official report has arrived and will be introduced below.

Due to the popularity of the film, it has been decided that the "Big Hit 'Mokkori' Kakegoe Cheering Screening" will be held at five locations throughout Japan on the same day: Sapporo, Shinjuku, Nagoya, Umeda, and Hakata.
The momentum of the "City Hunter whirlwind" that is sweeping across Japan, not only in Shinjuku where the film is set, seems to have no end in sight.

Official Report]*Honorifics omitted.

The film, which opened on 251 screens nationwide, has been a mega-hit at the box office, drawing 886,844 viewers and grossing 1,246,406,300 yen in 26 days from 2/8 (Fri.) to 3/6 (Wed.). The "City Hunter legend" that began at the end of the Showa period is shining brightly again as a "new legend" this year as the Heisei period will soon come to an end! In response to the blockbuster success of the film, a blockbuster "Mokkori" Kakegoe cheering screening was held today, March 7 (Thu.) at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku.

During the scene in which Akira Saeba appears in the film, the audience shouted, "Cool! Cool~! Mokkori! and the audience cheered and shouted in love with "City Hunter" without interruption. The climax of the show was TM NETWORK's "Get Wild," and the audience's voltage reached its highest. The entire audience sang along in unison. Some audience members brought their own handmade fans and 100-ton hammers to the screening.

After the screening, Akira Kamiya, Kanetsugu Kodama (general director), and producer Michihiko Suwa (Yomiuri TV) took the stage to loud applause and cheers amidst a sea of psyllium. When asked by producer Go Wakabayashi (Aniplex) how he enjoyed the screening, Kamiya replied, "I am so happy to be able to enjoy the show with everyone today, and to have so many fans supporting the work, which has made it so much more exciting. I couldn't be happier. It was great! She commented with an emotional look on her face.

When asked what was memorable about the reactions during the screening, Director Kodama replied, "I was surprised by the unexpected laughter (laughs)! I am grateful to Mr. Kaneko (laughs). Kamiya said, "I felt the enthusiasm of the audience when I saw the many cheering toys that everyone was carrying. I don't think I could have done it just by watching the show once, but I was most touched by the way everyone was saying the lines of the actors' speeches along with me. Thank you! I expressed my gratitude. Producer Wakabayashi said, "There were cheers for unexpected characters. Shimoyamada and Umikobo! The audience cheered when he said "Shimoyamada and Umikobo! Between you and me, there was a possibility that the scene at the end where the repaired Umikoboju returns to the Cat's Eye cafe would have been cut, but Mr. Hojo said he wanted to keep the scene. I thought Hojo-sensei was amazing after all." I was also able to hear a valuable behind-the-scenes story.

I think there were a lot of criticisms of Yu's indescribable facial expression when he and Kaoru were having a falling out. When asked if he was particular about the facial expressions, Director Kodama replied, "The ending line of the movie was decided first. (Laughs.) Mr. Hojo also said that Yu is fluffy with all kinds of women, but he is clumsy with the one he loves the most. The audience cheered in yellow when he said this.

When asked what he is conscious of in his lines, Kamiya replied, "I am very conscious of the way I write my lines. I really enjoyed playing the gag parts. I didn't think I would be able to come back after 20 years, so I'm really happy to be able to make it happen! I'm really happy to make it happen!" he said with a smile.

The new element in this cheering screening is that the lyrics of the songs played in the film are displayed as a message in the film. It was producer Suwa who came up with the idea, saying, "I think it is natural to express the music that gives energy to the work. Mr. Kamiya and I had been talking about how we wanted people to feel free to sing along in the theater. So I am very happy that we were able to realize the cheering screening. And when everyone sings together, I feel like I'm getting better at singing too! he answered jokingly.

Finally, Kamiya said, "I feel that this work is truly loved and supported by many fans. The entire staff is at the peak of our happiness. Please continue to support us! Kamiya then called out to the audience, and the venue was filled with a thunderous "MOKKOKORI! The event ended with a great success.
