Tokyo Anime Awards Festival 2019 (TAAF2019) was held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, for four days from March 8 to 11, 2019. Here is a report on the "TV Anime Festival" special event "Detective Conan: The Dark Blue Fist" "Fist to Fist" Fan Meeting" held on March 10 (Sun.), the third day of the festival, at the Sunshine City Fountain Plaza. TV Anime Festival, a special event held at TAAF, is a special program in which TV networks show their appreciation to the fans who support the many TV anime that are broadcast every year. This year's TV Anime Festival 2019 featured a stage about the theater versions of two popular TV anime series.
The second of these was the "Detective Conan: The Dark Blue Fist" Fan Meeting, a special event for the film version of "Detective Conan: The Dark Blue Fist," which will be released on April 12, 2019 (Friday).

Detective Conan" is an anime series based on Gosho Aoyama's popular mystery manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday (published by Shogakukan). Shinichi Kudo, a high school detective, witnesses a transaction between a mysterious organization and is poisoned to keep his mouth shut. The TV anime has been broadcast since 1996, and a film version of the anime has been released annually since 1997. The 22nd film in the series, "Detective Conan: Zero no Shokugunin," was released on Friday, April 13, 2018, and recorded the highest box-office revenue of the series at 9.18 billion yen, making it the highest-grossing film in six consecutive years.

The 23rd theatrical version, "Detective Conan: The Dark Blue Fist," which will be released on April 12, 2019 (Friday), is the first Conan theatrical version to be set overseas; Conan and his mortal rival, Phantom Thief Kid, are in a battle over the world's largest jewel, the Blue Sapphire, which is believed to have sunk to the bottom of the ocean at the end of the 19th century, Conan and his fated rival, Kid the Phantom Thief, become entangled in a murder case at the Marina Bay Sands and a huge conspiracy in Singapore, the "Land of the Lion.

Although the cast did not take the stage on this day, the seats in front of the stage for those who had registered in advance were almost 90% occupied by female guests. Among them were fans holding plush toys of Conan, Kid, and Toru Amuro (Rei Furuya), a very popular member of the Public Safety Police who appeared as a main character in the previous film, "Detective Conan: Zero no Keijunin.

Conan-kun (CV: Minami Takayama) appeared on the stage, which was filled with excitement even before the event began. Conan-kun, who was greeted by the audience with "cute" comments, quickly introduced the latest theatrical version of the film. The audience listened attentively to the talk between the two.

After Conan-kun left the stage, Mr. Shoichi Hayashibara of Toho Pictures' Advertising Planning Office appeared on stage.
First, the trailer of the film was shown, followed by the explanation of the points of interest by showing scene photos on the screen. He also talked about the origin of the name "Arthur Hillai," which Conan is to take this time, and about the scenes of interest and accompanying episodes, such as Makoto Kyogoku, Kid's natural enemy and a key person in the film, and a shot of Ran and Shinichi at the swimming pool. The corner raised expectations for the final scene of the film, which is said to surpass the previous film.

The event was titled "Fan Meeting," and in keeping with the event's name, there was an audience-participation type corner.
First, an explanation was given about the flyer that was handed out at the entrance (the title of "Detective Conan" was changed to "Detective Hirai"). This was a nice present for the visitors, who were told that it was a special one handed out at events, etc., and not available in theaters.

In the latter half of the event, Michihiko Suwa, the producer of "Detective Conan," from Yomiuri Television, also took the stage and made the audience laugh by saying that he has been involved with this series since January 1996, when he was the same age as Kogoro Mouri, but now Dr. Agasa has also passed him.
He told the audience that he was the same age as Kogoro Mouri at that time, but that he has now passed Dr. Agasa. The total recording time was 14 hours and 12 minutes, exactly the same number as Kid's secret number "1412".

The world's largest blue sapphire, the "Konjo no Fist," is said to have sunk with a pirate ship in the waters near Singapore at the end of the 19th century.
When a wealthy local man plans to recover the sapphire and brings it to the surface, a murder occurs at the Marina Bay Sands. At the scene, a bloody letter of warning from the Phantom Thief Kid is left behind.
Meanwhile, Ran and Sonoko are in Singapore to watch a karate tournament. Conan, who cannot travel abroad because he does not have a passport, was supposed to stay behind, but he is forcibly brought to Singapore by a mysterious method of the Kid, who wants to take advantage of him. Conan, who cannot even return to Japan unless he obeys the Kid, is robbed of everything, including his glasses, watch, and clothes, and is forced to disguise himself.
