The long-awaited anime adaptation of "Airborne Dragons," which depicts the journey of a crew fascinated by the sky and dragons, is set to Broadcasting will begin in January 2020 on Fuji Television's "+Ultra" channel.

Based on the concept of "expanding anime culture overseas," Fuji Television's anime slot "+Ultra" will launch high-quality, world-standard anime productions to Japan and the rest of the world.
At the lineup announcement held on March 14, it was announced that the anime adaptation of "Airborne Dragons," currently serialized in Kodansha's "good!


Naohiro "Tady" Yoshidaira, assistant director of "Knights of Sidonia: Battle for the Ninth Planet" and "BLAME!" will dramatically depict the characters in a beautiful and magnificent fantasy world. The series will be composed and written by Makoto Uezu, who has worked on numerous popular works including "Assassination Classroom" and "Arslan Senki," and sound directed by Miwa Iwanami of "Spider-Man: Spider-Verse" and "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass" series.
Animation production will be handled by Polygon Pictures.
The staff of "Knights of Sidonia" and "BLAME!" will reunite to create an overwhelming high fantasy world.

The teaser PV depicts the dragon hunters, known as "dragon catchers," as they travel through the skies, hunt dragons, and operate the dragon-catching ship "Quin Zaza," while the main character, Mika, is on the "dragon-catching ship" "Quin Zaza. The teaser visual of the main character, Mika, gazing at the dragon from the "Quin Zaza" has been unveiled.

It was also announced that an original novelization of "Airborne Dragons" (tentative title) will begin serialization in the June issue of Da Vinci (scheduled for release on May 7).
The novelization will feature an original female character, Vanabelle, as the main character.
