The degree to which the anime is reproduced is unparalleled! Zombieland Saga LIVE: Franchouche Minna Orabo," packed with the charms of the TV series! ~Report from the daytime session
The hit anime "Zombieland Saga" is about a group of zombie girls who form an idol group and struggle to make Saga Prefecture a better place. The first live event "Zombieland Saga LIVE ~Franchouche Minna de Orabo! ~was held at Shinagawa Intercity Hall in Tokyo on March 17, 2019.
About 2,000 fans attended the live event, which was held twice a day and twice a night, and a total of 20,000 fans came to the live viewing venues around Japan to witness the first ever zombie idol group "Franchouche" perform on the big stage. (Incidentally, there were many enthusiastic fans who actually came from Saga Prefecture to attend the live viewing.)
) This time, we will report on the daytime performance.
A live performance of a famous scene from the original work!
When the lights went down and the opening video was shown, the audience cheered loudly. As the death metal sound echoed, the silhouettes of the six members emerged from behind the smoke on stage.
The coolest appearance of all raised expectations, and the curtain rose on the event with the opening theme song, "Tochu Hana Necromancy".
Kaede Hondo, who plays the role of Sakura Minamoto, was in fine form, and her choreography was also very sharp. Her singing voice was steady as she danced. It was their first time on stage since "CygamesFes2018" held at the end of last year, and their performance seemed to have been further refined. The audience cheered as the members sang their parts in turn.
The highlight of the show was not only the performance of the six members. The hairstyles and costumes of the cast members perfectly replicated the characters they portrayed, as if Frans Chouche had just appeared from behind a TV monitor. It was as if Franchou were popping up from behind a TV monitor!
This was evident in the delighted shouts from the floor when Asami Tano, who played Saki Nikaido, said, "I'm going to kill you! The cast members were all smiles, encouraged by the enthusiasm of the audience.
Mimi Tanaka, who plays Lily Hoshikawa, said, "Tae-chan, there she is! and brought a live Tae-chan (a vinyl ball with the face of the legendary Tae Yamada printed on it) to the stage and threw it onto the floor. The audience was excited to see the full lineup of the band members performing together,
The audience was excited to see the full lineup perform together. You can't take the head off an idol!
Hondo-san kicked Tae-chan's head (a vinyl ball)!
The performance began with the "DEAD or RAP! which was performed in the second episode! While Mr. Hondo and Ms. Tano were engaged in a fierce RAP battle, Rika Korikawa, who plays the role of Yugiri, played with a shamisen, and Ms. Tanaka stirred up the floor with "Lily too! and stirred up the floor. The perfect recreation of a famous scene from the anime was both funny and moving. This is what I wanted to see!
Next was the "pure love" zone.
Episodes 6 and 7, which depicted the Showa era's view of idols in the Heisei era and the growth of Junko and Ai, are famous as some of the most famous episodes in the show.
Risa Taneda, who plays Ai Mizuno, and Maki Kawase, who plays Junko Konno, stood side by side and showed their presence as the two top performers of Franchouche. Ai (Ms. Taneda) has a cute, yet core singing voice, and Junko (Ms. Kawase) has an interesting, strong, and confident voice. It was impossible not to be moved by the sight of these two singing back-to-back! As if to support their performance, the other members' harmonies also echoed in the background.
Then, during "Awakening Returner," Ms. Taneda sang, "Cut in! lightning struck the stage just as in the anime! The performance stopped for a moment, but the stage resumed immediately. Of course, the singer's voice was changed to a machine-voiced electrocution version! The cast and crew were so enthusiastic about the performance that one could not help but wonder, "Did they really go this far? One could not help but feel the love for "Zombieland Saga" from the cast and live staff. Of course, the choreography of Frans Chou-Chou was also a direct reproduction of the anime. As one would expect, no laser beams flew from the fingertips of the performers, but everyone in the audience must have seen the laser beams flying freely across the venue with their own eyes.
After running through the stage all the way to the end, everyone took a break. Ms. Kinugawa commented, "I was a bit moved.
Special guests, the old and new Iron Frills, also made an appearance!
At this point, Frans Chouche left the stage.
A surprise guest, the "current Iron Frill," appeared and performed "Jelly Fish. Ms. Aozora Tokui playing Shiori, Ms. Chisa Kaneko playing Yui, Ms. Aoi Hinomukai playing Makoto, Ms. Mao playing Hikari, and Ms. Mayu Tono playing Juria appeared. As Ms. Tokui said, "I tried my best to bring the performance closer to the anime," and the audience was captivated by the vivid performance of the top idol group in the play.
At this point, the words "Iron Frill 2018" on the stage changed to "Iron Frill 2008. Next up was "Old Iron Frill" from the era when Ai Mizuno was still alive!
With Ms. Taneda, aka Ai Mizuno, at the center, Yuuki Sato, who played Kaoru, Mai Mochizuki, who played Nono, Chinatsu Oide, who played Nina, and Shiori Matsui, who played Miyu, performed "FANTASTIC LOVERS". They sang a slightly mature love song and recreated the sunny days of Ai Mizuno on stage.
Incidentally, Ms. Sato, Ms. Mochizuki, Ms. Oide, and Ms. Matsui were a little nervous because this event was their first time on stage. The gap between their imposing performance and their fresh appearance during the MC session was also attractive.
The climax of the event was a raging wave of excitement and emotion!
The second half of the live was already underway.
Franchouche appeared on stage again and filled the venue with excitement with "To my dearest," with Lily Hoshikawa, a.k.a. Ms. Tanaka, in the center.
The song was enough to make the audience cry in the anime and on the CD, but the persuasive power of the live performance was overwhelming. The song was also a tear-jerker in the anime and on CD, but the live performance was overwhelmingly convincing. In particular, her straight voice in "But, but, but! was especially striking. Of course, Puppy would have cried if she had sung such a song in front of me. ...... I wiped away a few tears thinking so.
During the MC later in the show, Tanaka revealed his honest feelings, saying, "When I found out Lily's identity as a man's daughter, I was worried about what the audience would think of me. However, "It's not Masao, it's Lily! I'm not Masao, I'm Lily! I'm not Masao, I'm Lily!" he must have felt there was nothing to worry about.
The next song was of course "Tokko DANCE ~DAWN OF THE BAD~" with Saki Nikaido at the center. Franchouche appeared in the 80's ladies' style of tokkko-uniform and sailor uniform, and sang enthusiastically with a stand microphone. Ms. Tano, standing in the center of the stage, united the audience in a live-like excitement. The audience jumped in unison to the call of "Jump, jump! the audience jumped in unison.
The audience gave a standing ovation to Mr. Tano, who gave a performance that could be described as a "Franchouche's suicide mission commander!
The final song, "Yomiga ere," started with the cast and audience clapping in unison. The climax of the performance took place amidst the excitement of the audience, which rivaled that of the anime. If you look closely, you will notice that the stage was set up so that the lights behind it were collapsing.
After all this time, I thought to myself, "I see! This set was a recreation of the live performance in the last episode! I got goosebumps. Then, at the climax of the show, Hondo-san's shout of "Bukko wo Kowashite! gave me goosebumps again. I am sure I was not the only one who felt that the characters and the cast were in perfect synchronization.
The last song of the live was the ending theme "Hikari he" (Toward the Light). The finale of the main event was a moving song with beautiful chorus work and harmonies that showcased Frans Chouche's high singing ability.
However, the audience did not want it to end yet! So, Franschoux appeared on stage again for an encore. The last song was "Let the Flag Fly.
The refreshing pop song and the united calls were a perfect ending to Franchouche's first live performance.
The stage was a truly historic event, as it was a high-level performance of everything we had hoped to see in the anime, recreating all the famous scenes from the show.
The live performance ended with Hondo-san's voice saying, "This is Saga! by Mr. Hondo.
The live performance will be packaged in the form of a live Blu-ray at a later date, so if you want to feel the excitement of the day again, be sure to purchase a copy.
Akiba Research Institute" is also currently holding a present campaign for a second Blu-ray volume signed by the director and other main staff members. For more details, please refer to this article.
