In conjunction with this announcement, comments from director Murano and Rie Miyazawa have also arrived.

Bokura no 7 Nichijo Senso" is an anime film based on the classic novel "Bokura no 7 Nichijo Senso" (Our Seven-Day War), which has been continuously published since 1985 and has sold over 20 million copies. The film is set in Hokkaido in the year 2020, some 30 years after the "Seven Day War" in which boys and girls holed up in an abandoned factory by Hitomi Nakayama and defeated the adults. A new story will unfold in the spirit of the original story.
⇒Anime film "Our 7 Day War" will be released in December! Teaser visual, special trailer and other information are now available! Comments from the author and director have also arrived!

It was announced that Rie Miyazawa, who made her acting debut and played the leading role in the live-action version of "Our Seven-Day War" released in 1988, will be playing the role of "Hitomi Nakayama in 2020" in the film.

Hitomi Nakayama was a class councilor in the live-action film "Our Seven-Day War" who inspired her classmates to rebel against the adults, and along with the tank, became an icon of the "Seven-Day War. Her heroic ride on the turret of the tank has left a deep and lasting impression on the hearts of "Bokura" fans.

What will Hitomi look like in 2020? Will she interact with the boys and girls facing the new "Seven Day War"? All eyes are on them.

It has been 34 years since the first work was published and 31 years since the first film adaptation. The original work, which has been loved as a milestone in Japan's representative coming-of-age entertainment, has finally been reborn as an animated film, and we hope you will pay close attention to it.

<Director and cast comments

Director Murano's comment on why he chose Rie Miyazawa

In both the original story and the movie, the adults are not only phony.
There was always a wonderful woman who stood on the side of the children and reflected the conscience of the adults.
I wondered if Rie Miyazawa, who played Hitomi Nakayama in the previous film, would return to "7 Days of War" in exactly that role... this was my main concern from the script stage.

Ms. Miyazawa will be returning to the screen as Hitomi Nakayama, transcending the boundaries between live-action and animation, and transcending the times.
Even if times change and the environment surrounding children changes, there must be something that will never change - Hitomi Nakayama, the eternal image of a young girl who will never fade away, conveys this more persuasively than anyone else.
And that, we believe, is the utmost respect we can give to "The Seven-Day War" from "Seven-Day War".

■Rie Miyazawa's comment

Although it is a modest appearance, I participated in the film as Hitomi Nakayama.
Just as my debut film "Our Seven-Day War" was etched in the memories of those who saw it at the time, I hope that "Our Seven-Day War," an animated film that has transcended time and been given a new lease of life, will move your hearts as well.
We hope you will enjoy it on the big screen at the movie theater.
