AnimeJapan 2019, one of Japan's largest comprehensive anime events, is being held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 23 to 26, 2019 (open to the public on March 23 and 24).

I had the opportunity to photograph some cosplayers I saw at the event on the first day, so let me introduce them to you.

Although the calendar says it is already spring, it was very cold in the outdoor area with occasional light rain! I was bowled over by the cosplayers, many of whom were dressed in summer attire. As is the standard at cosplay events these days, people are photographed one by one in a line, so photographers should also be equipped for winter.

In terms of genres, I saw a large group of "Zombieland Saga" cosplayers, which is probably only possible at this time of year in AJ. Popular titles included "Gaket Kegurui" and "The Bride of the Fifth Estate. I got the impression that "Kaguya-sama ga Kesshirasai ~Tensai-tachi no Koi Toushi no Kashin Senkousen~" was popular with a pinpoint focus on Secretary Fujiwara.

As for the regular works, Rem and Ram of "Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu" are very popular. With the announcement of the production of the second season of the TV series of the same work at this year's AJ, it seems that their popularity will continue.

The most popular genre was of course the "Fate" series, while idol and naval battle-related genres were relatively few for a recent event. Among these, "THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS" stood out. New idols added this year, such as Riamu Yumemi, Chitose Kurosaki, and Senya Shirayuki, had already appeared in the cosplay area and attracted a lot of attention.
