Techno Boys (TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND, Fujimuratoworu, Yohei Matsui, Tomohisa Ishikawa), well-known for their soundtracks and character songs for various works and songs featuring various artists, have released their 25th anniversary best album "MUSIC FOR ANIMATIONS" was released. How are their character songs, play accompaniments, and songs with featured vocalists created? We spoke with them about the various songs included in the best album.

The best of Techno Boys catalog

Tatsuya: This best-of album commemorates the 25th anniversary of the group's formation, and its content transcends the boundaries of the labels due to the nature of your activities.

Matsui That's right. Thank you very much.

Fujimura: The distribution version of the album, including the high-resolution version, is the "Lantis Edition," which consists only of songs released by Lantis. In addition to the differences in the songs, the mastering was done by Mitsuo Koike for the CD version and Mitsuharu Harada for the Hi-Res version, so you can feel the charm of each.

Matsui: Did you have a hard time deciding on the order of the songs to be included in the CD?

Matsui: We decided on the songs to be included and the order in which they would be included at the same time. For example, the first section is the singles under the Techno Boys name, and the next section is the songs we provided for the OP/EDs of the works, and so on.

Fujimura: Within each section, we selected songs and arranged them in chronological order. So we start with "To the Reverberations of Oblivion," which is also the first single under our name.

Matsui: I don't think there are many best-of albums that start with such a quiet song (laughs).

Laughs] Perhaps it is because of the sectioned structure, but it seems to me that this album is like a catalog of various songs that Techno Boys have produced so far.

Matsui: I have that image. Actually, the producer had originally told me that he wanted to make a best-of album that would be a catalog of Techno Boys songs. I tried to make the jacket in the style of a list, like a catalog.
