More information about the Switch's "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen," which will be released on April 25, and about player and pawn jobs & abilities!
Capcom has released further information about player and pawn jobs and information about abilities from "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" for Switch, scheduled for release on Thursday, April 25.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an open-world action game that has sold 4.2 million copies worldwide (as of September 30, 2018). The game takes place on the Grancis Peninsula, a vast open-world world. The player, who becomes a "Sentient" after his heart is stolen by a dragon, sets out on a journey around the Grancis Peninsula in pursuit of the dragon in order to defeat it and regain his own heart.
The game offers a world of adventure that can never be experienced in reality, with fields that look completely different depending on the time of day, such as idyllic prairies and magnificent valleys, dungeons without lights where monsters may attack from the shadows at any moment, and healing springs that heal travelers with their dazzling light even at night. The world of the "Fountain of Healing" is a world that is never seen in reality.
This is the world of high fantasy that we all dreamed of, longed for, and were excited about when we were young. The Switch version of "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" will allow players to enjoy adventures in a world that until now has only been a figment of their imagination, whether in their living room or on the go.
The following is more information about the player and pawn jobs that play a major role in combat, as well as information about their abilities.
All Jobs in "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" Part 2
In "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen," there are nine different jobs with various characteristics. There are nine basic jobs: Fighter, Strider, Mage, Warrior, Ranger, and Sorcerer, each of which is a "higher level job," and the "mixed advanced job," which combines the characteristics of two basic jobs. (Mixed advanced jobs are exclusive to the player who is an Enlightened One, and pawns are not allowed to change jobs.) (Mixed advanced jobs are only for players who are sentient, and pawns are not allowed to change jobs!
Mystic Knight
This is a mixed advanced job of fighter and mage that can be changed only by those who have learned to fight. This job has melee combat skills comparable to those of a fighter, and is also good at enchanting allies with magic (attribute-imparting magic). They can use magic in melee combat to counter enemies whose physical attacks are ineffective by adding weak points to their weapons, or by casting magic on their magic shields to counter with attribute attacks when they are guarded.
[ Magic Shield Skill] Fire Guard
When the magic shield is enchanted with the power of fire and guards against an enemy attack, the enemy can be blown away with an attribute attack. If you succeed in just guarding, a fireball will be released from the magic shield. Other attribute variations include ice, lightning, light, and darkness.
[ Mace, One-Handed Sword Skill] Magic Fireball
By tapping the mass of magic power with the weapon, a magic bullet is shot out, homing in on the enemy. The magic projectile reflects the weapon's attributes, making it a powerful attack tool when used in conjunction with enchantment magic.
Assassin
A mixed fighter/strider advanced level job available only to those who have learned to use a weapon. This job specializes in attack power and mobility at the expense of defensive performance. They can use many weapons, including one-handed swords, daggers, bows, and shields, and have many highly mobile techniques and counter techniques. They can also learn abilities that increase their abilities under certain conditions, such as at night.
[One-handed Sword Skill] Bakuhaze
This is a trap placement skill that places gunpowder on the ground and ignites a fuse from a distance to cause an explosion. It is effective not only to immediately detonate the explosive after it is placed, but also to use it after luring enemies to it. It is also capable of toppling large monsters.
[Dagger Skill] Nagashi Assassination
A counter attack that parries an opponent's attack and then launches a counterattack. The attacker is invincible for a certain period of time during the counter attack, making it possible to counterattack with certainty. Even against large monsters, countering with this technique can make them flinch, creating an opportunity for a counterattack.
Magic Archer
The Magic Archer is a mixed profession of Strider and Mage that can only be taken by those who have learned to use a magic bow to manipulate magic arrows created by magic power. They can make full use of arrows with various trajectories and additional effects, and can play a key role in three-dimensional tactics. In addition to the magic bow, this job also allows for a wide range of other maneuvers, such as melee combat with daggers, and attacking and assisting magic with a staff equipped.
[Magic Bow Skill] Ricocheting Magic
Reflects off walls and fires lightning-attribute magic arrows that track the enemy. The power of the arrows increases as they reflect off walls, making them overwhelmingly powerful in dungeons, caves, and other confined spaces.
[Magical Bow Skill] Magic Bullet
This magic arrow has an icy attribute and can hit at multiple targets. It is possible to snipe from a long distance, and when accumulated, it can also put the enemy in an icy state.
Equipping "Skills" and "Abilities
At some facilities, such as inns, it is possible to learn and equip "skills" and "abilities" in addition to recovering energy by "staying overnight" and "changing jobs (changing jobs)". The custom skills and abilities that are learned are equipped in their respective slots, and their effects are demonstrated. Since there is a limit to the number of slots that can be equipped, it is important to equip them based on "what style of combat you will be engaged in.
Equipping Custom Skills
A fighter can equip a total of six custom skills (three main and three sub-skills) from among those he has already mastered. For example, a fighter can equip the main skill with a one-handed sword and the sub skill with a shield, and so on. Since equipped skills can only be changed at facilities such as inns, it is necessary to strategize which skills to select from among the many skills available.
Equipping Abilities
Custom skills" greatly influence combat actions such as attacks and magic, while "abilities" are not directly related to actions, but rather are abilities that can be used to enhance certain statuses and other abilities that are always beneficial just by having them equipped. In contrast, "abilities" are not direct actions, but rather are abilities that can always be beneficial just by having them equipped, such as specific status enhancements. While "custom skills" are fixed to each job, "abilities" can be equipped to any job as long as the user has mastered them. Up to six abilities can be equipped, so consider the compatibility of the abilities with the job and skills.
Example of equipped abilities 1
Examples of specialized defensive abilities for fighters, mystic knights, and other jobs that can use shields.
Discernment ... It becomes easier to just guard (Fighter)
Iron Wall ... Increases physical defense (Warrior)
Hardness ... Increases physical defense (Mystic Knight)
Skillful Defense ... Reduce Stamina consumption by half when guarding (Mystic Knight)
Firmness ... Less likely to flinch when playing cards (Mystic Knight)
Heart ... Increases physical and magical defenses when low on health (Mystic Knight)
The following is an example of equipment for a fighter and mystic knight who are supposed to be in the vanguard of the defense, with "Discernment," "Skillful Defense," and "Firm Defense" to fortify their guards, "Iron Wall" and "Stiffness" to strengthen their resistance to attack, and "Heart" to get them out of a pinch.
Example 2 of Ability Equipment
Examples of equipment for abilities specializing in offensive abilities for jobs with strong physical attacks, such as Assassin and Warrior.
Real power ... Physical attack power is increased when health is lowered (Fighter)
Onslaught ... Increases physical attack power (Warrior)
Fighting Spirit ... Increases physical and magic attack power of normal skills (Warrior)
Excitement ... Physical attack power is greatly increased (Warrior)
Shura ... Increased attack and defense at night (Assassin)
Solitude ... Increases physical and magic attack and defense without companions (Assassin)
▲ After strengthening basic attack power with "Onslaught," "Excitement," and "Fighting Spirit," attack power is further increased in situations where there are restrictions such as "lowered physical strength," "at night," and "acting alone as a sentient being.
Example 2 is an ability structure that assumes that the player dares to hold risks to subdue the enemy with overwhelming offensive power. Combine various skills and abilities to create your own unique play style and strategy!
