The characters of "THE iDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS" are shown in sunglasses. <Report from the filming site

Mr. YOSHIKI entered the studio with a unique world view, where spot and laser lights were illuminated in the pitch dark. Just by standing in the shooting space, YOSHIKI's unique presence and charm overflowed, and everyone was immediately convinced that this was going to be a cool commercial. He was particular about not only the shape of the "S pose," but also the phrasing of the lines and the position of his hands in the slightest poses, and even after the director gave the OK, YOSHIKI himself asked, "Can I try again? Even after the director gave the OK, YOSHIKI himself would proactively reshoot the film, asking, "Can I try again?" His uncompromising attitude toward creating a better film was so influential to the production staff.

When a female staff member made a mistake in the "S pose" during a commemorative photo shoot with the staff, he followed up with a laugh, saying, "It's difficult, isn't it? When the staff asked for a commemorative photo, "Even the X pose! I'm a pro at this (laugh)," she said, and then she graciously posed with them, giving us a taste of YOSHIKI's world.

<Interview Report

--What were your impressions after the filming of this commercial?

YOSHIKI We came to Japan with a tight schedule, but we had a wonderful set and a great production team that made us feel very comfortable during the shoot. It was such a cool set that I wondered if this was really a commercial shoot. The set was so cool that I wondered if we were really shooting a commercial, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

--YOSHIKI Is there any episode or impression you had on the shooting site that remains in your memory?
YOSHIKI There was a scene where the camera came right in front of me. It was quite difficult to make facial expressions for that scene. The director told me, "Please make it look like you are staring at me." But when I thought about it, I realized that it would have been better if I had kept my usual "plain" expression (laughs).

--(Laughs) - You performed the "S pose." Were there any particular points you focused on when you were filming?

YOSHIKI It is surprisingly difficult. I practiced it a little myself when I heard we were going to shoot this pose, but it was still difficult when I got to the actual shoot. I usually do the "X pose," and it's like a conditioned reflex. But the "S pose" is interesting, isn't it? Next time I am approached on the street, I might do the "S pose" (laughs).

--When you were offered a commercial for this game, what did you think of it and what was your honest impression?

YOSHIKI I am also active in various fields as a producer, but I had the impression that the world of idols was at the opposite end of the spectrum, so I was surprised when I heard about it, but I was happy and it was very fresh.

--The theme of this year's contest is "Let's make it shine, everything about idols. But, have you been thinking "I want to shine! YOSHIKI: It's not so much about my appearance.

YOSHIKI I think I need to improve my inner self rather than my outer appearance. It has been about 30 years since my debut, but I am always conscious of "shining from the inside. And I believe that if you work hard on a daily basis, you will naturally shine from the inside out. Living in the center of Hollywood, you have to shine a lot to be noticed over there.

--YOSHIKI: In April, a new era will be announced, and in May, a new era will begin.

YOSHIKI The year of my debut was the first year of the Heisei era. I have been involved in various activities during that time, but for the next era, I would like to be active on the world stage, with "world" as the keyword. People are always in the process of growing up, and of course, idols have been accumulating various efforts since they were small children, and I think that somewhere along the way, these efforts have blossomed. In this new era, I would like to blossom in the world as well.
