A big hit! The "Canned Ring Collection" is already being re-released, and the "How to Make Capsule Toys" introduces a hands-on experience of the capsule toy manufacturing process! Wacky Kaiyama's Latest Gacha Exploration - Episode 32

On September 21, 2019, the "Osaka Gacha-Gacha Festival 2019 Autumn" was successfully held at Loft Plus One West. The festival was filled with very valuable materials such as figure "molds," "wooden molds," and tin prototypes by gacha-gacha researcher Noriyuki Sugimura! I also showed off an actual figure that was exported to the U.S. after the war, and a winning ticket from the early days of Gacha-Gacha with an astonishing prize such as a "luxury wristwatch" to be won. It was a hot talk show lasting over two hours that overwhelmed the audience with the vast world of retro capsule toys.

Some of the participants came from as far away as Mie and Shizuoka prefectures, so thank you all very much!

Now, let's see what our capsule toy concierge "Wacky Kaizan" has in store for us in his Gacha column, where he will be selecting from the latest items. Please take a look!

Canned Ring Collection: Ikimon, 6 kinds, 300 yen

They have done it again! Rings featuring Maruha Nichiro's canned foods are selling out fast!

The sense of art unit "Second Class Contemporary Art" explodes! Maruha Nichiro's wise (?) decision made this collaboration possible! The collaboration was realized through the wise decision (?) of MARUHA NICHIRO!

The more authentic the project is, the more interesting it becomes.

Originally, Mr. Fujiwara, a contemporary art private, posted this product on SNS in April 2019, and it quickly became a hot topic with 50,000 retweets. He immediately negotiated for a license and even commercialized the product. Ikimon-san, you are quick to act!

The realistically reproduced ring has a great sense of solidity. With a ball chain attached, it can be arranged as a necklace or other fashionable accessory. In addition, the mini pamphlet has a printed image of the top surface of the canned food, which can be cut out to enjoy it as a more realistic miniature canned food.

So, let us introduce you to the lineup.

Akebono Sake

Despite its tiny size, I was surprised at the solid printing technology! The evolution of capsule toys never stops. However, the printed characters are so small that it is difficult to read them with the naked eye. The red and white color scheme is very cool. The large-sized pink salmon will make your appetite for fall even deeper. By the way, the top surface is made of a packing can.

Gekka mackerel simmered in water

Mackerel simmered in water is popular as a staple food because of its high nutritional value and ease of use in cooking. I was talking about the ring, wasn't I? The blue-based design is a cool image for casual, everyday use. The top surface looks like a Japanese flag, which gives a sense of the Japanese spirit.

Golden wire sockeye crab

The design of the red snow crab spreading out with a great impact! The ring's presence is also outstanding. The crab on the top also looks delicious!

Scallops boiled in water

The package of two scallops is familiar to everyone! The red hiragana logo is also a nice accent.

Curry-stewed mackerel

This is a hot topic that is becoming more and more popular. The popular canned food, which is becoming more and more popular, has also been made into a ring. The illustration of a mackerel holding up a plate of curry is a nice touch of humor. It would make a great gift for your girlfriend or wife!

Boiled Pacific saury

With the price of saury soaring, we are grateful for the existence of a stable supply of canned saury. The green design is easy on the eyes and nice to wear.

Fishmongers and taverns should definitely have them! It is sure to get a laugh from your customers.

You'll know it when you put it on! You can even wear it on your ring finger! You can even use it to exchange rings at a wedding. It's an amazing item that will make your imagination run wild! I can see why it is so popular.

By the way, we heard that it sold out immediately after its release, but it will be available again in late October. If you missed out, don't forget to pick one up!

How Capsule Toys are Made: Epoch Co. 6 kinds, 300 yen

This is the developer's "love" for gacha! What a ......! This is a historical and epoch-making gem that uses miniature figures to explain the process of making capsule toys. As one would expect from Epoch, which has been developing the "Who's Got It? series," and this time they are going their own way again. I can feel the energy of the company, as if to say, "If you like this worldview, shut up and follow us. Of course, I will follow them.

Molding process "cat figure with runner" & "dog figure

Turning the handle, the capsule appeared with a heavy thud and was wrapped tightly with tape. When we opened the Pandora capsule, we found it tightly wrapped in cushioning material! Carefully opening the mysterious veil, we found two iron plates. To our surprise, the cat and dog figures can be fitted into their molds. I couldn't help but let out an exclamation of "Oh! I couldn't help but let out an exclamation. This quality in miniature size is unique! The craftsmanship of the millimeter-by-millimeter workmanship shines through in every detail.

Painting process "Mask mold and cat figure being painted

The mold, which looks like an apparatus for making Imagawa-yaki, can open and close properly, and the patterns on the backs of the cat figures, which are about 3 mm in diameter, are different from each other during the painting process, which is also amazing.

A spray gun and a dog figure in the process of being painted.

What? What is it? This is a lever that moves! The color doesn't spurt out, but you can't expect it to do that. The coloring of the dog figure is so detailed that I was moved to tears.

Packing process: "Put in capsules and packaged in cardboard, dog & cat version".

The cardboard is of course made of paper. The product name, serial number, and barcode are printed on the cardboard, and you can feel the developer's attention to detail. It contains a red or blue capsule about 1 cm in diameter, a tiny cat or dog that has been painted. It also comes with a mini book about 1.2 cm in size, which is quite authentic. The thought of finally shipping the product makes me woozy. You can also feel like you've been on a factory tour.

Once again, I have introduced some capsule toys that are just amazing! Why don't you share this excitement with me?

So, for those of you who are thinking, "I want to hear more in-depth gacha talk! I'm sure you're thinking, "I want to hear more in-depth gacha talk! Why don't you join "Gacha Gacha Okinawa Tour with Wacky Kaizan" held from November 9 (Sat.) to 12 (Mon.) for 2 nights and 3 days?

(We will play gacha as much as we want at the (partly) popular "Gachariba OKINAWA"! There will be plenty of old and new capsule talk.

Basically, the tour starts and ends in Sendai, but you can join us on the way from Haneda or Itami! Let's make memories of the first year of 2028 together with me!
