Division: Juvenile division (6 years old and up to under 18 years old), General division (18 years old and up)

Competition format: Prefectural qualifying rounds will be held online, followed by the Prefectural Championships at actual venues.

Prefectural Preliminary Rounds (Online) *Completed: Time trials will be conducted in each prefecture, and the top 20 qualifiers will be selected from the Juvenile and General divisions, respectively.

■ Prefectural Preliminary Rounds (Offline) *Expired: Preliminary rounds will be held at actual venues, not online. In each prefecture, races will be held by prefectural qualifiers in the Juvenile and General divisions, respectively, and the top two finishers, four in total, will be selected to represent their respective prefectures.

■Ibaraki Prefecture Special Preliminary Rounds (Offline) *Completed: Preliminary rounds to determine special representatives from Ibaraki Prefecture, the host prefecture of the 74th National Athletic Meet, will be held at actual venues.

　Preliminary Entry Period: Friday, March 1, 2019 to Sunday, March 17, 2019 *96 players (48 in the Juvenile Division and 48 in the General Division)
　Lottery Preliminary Round: March 31, 2019 (Sun.) *First-come, first-served basis for 24 entrants (12 in the boys' division and 12 in the general division) on the day of the preliminary round

■National Athletic Meet Main Tournament: The final main tournament will be held by representatives of each prefecture and a special representative of Ibaraki Prefecture.
