The production team may have swung to the sexy side! Just before the release of the movie! Trinity Seven the Movie -The Sky Library and the Crimson Demon King-" Interview with Sadacheng Matsuoka and Yumi Hara

On Friday, March 29, 2019, "Trinity Seven the Movie -The Sky Library and the Crimson Demon King-" will finally open in theaters nationwide.

Trinity Seven" is an anime work based on the manga series by Kenji Saito (original story) and Akinori Nao (artwork), which is currently serialized in "Monthly Dragon Age" (KADOKAWA). The main character, Arata Kasuga, enrolls in the Royal Biblia Academy to save his cousin, Sei Kasuga, who has disappeared into another space due to a mysterious incident called the "Collapse Phenomenon. In the TV anime that aired from October 2014, Arata's lucky streak that befell him in every episode became the talk of the town. The first film version was released in February 2017.

The long-awaited second theatrical version of the anime will also feature a deep story and intense battles on the screen, centering on Arata Kasuga, who possesses the "demon king factor," and Lilith Asami, one of the Trinity Seven, a beautiful young mage. Of course, there are plenty of "muh-huh" scenes!
We asked Sadashijo Matsuoka, who plays Arata, and Yumi Hara, who plays Lilith, about the highlights of the film!

The story is a continuation of the story of the TV series!

--First of all, how did you feel when you decided to make the second feature film version?

Matsuoka: The TV anime series was adapted into a TV anime in 2014 and the first theater version was released in 2005. I was surprised. In terms of the setting, it was a continuation of the story of the TV series rather than a sequel to the movie version, so in that sense, it was a fresh feeling for me to work on it again.

Hara: I did a lot of stage greetings for the first theatrical version, "The Library of Yuukyuu and the Alchemy Girl," so I was very happy to think that I would not only be able to meet the cast after a long time at the recording studio, but also have a great time with fans in the theater and at events. I am very happy to think that I will be able to have a good time with my fans at the theater and at events.

--Hara-san attended the "Trinity Seven Marugoto Bing Bing Bing Screening" event held in Tokyo on November 30, 2018, together with the original author, Kenji Saito, and Ayaka Suwa, who plays the role of Sei Kasuga.

Hara: It was an all-night screening event where both the TV series and the first movie version, "Trinity Seven the Movie: The Library of Yuukyuu and the Alchemy Girl," could be enjoyed. ...... is a great title (laughs). The event started very late (10:30pm) and we were on stage late at night, but everyone who came to the event was very energetic and we had a great time. Since all 12 episodes of the TV series and the movie version (about 60 minutes) were shown at once until late in the morning, the staff decided that it would be necessary to have a stretch time during the event, so they prepared "Trinity exercises" for us.

--You mean the "exercises" that are shown on the official website?

Hara: Yes!　It seems that this exercise was really created to get the audience to stretch during the "Trinity Seven Marugoto Bing Bing Screening," and when the staff asked TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND (TECHNOBOYS) to do it, they gladly agreed. I was reminded once again that the people involved in "Trinity Seven" really do take on all kinds of initiatives (laughs). In the sample video that has been made available to the public, the older sister is showing us a very sharp dance, and Dr. Saito is singing along with the background music, "Connect to the health archive, and perform the exercises! Dr. Saito sang along with the background music, "Connect to the archives of health, and do the exercises! We have never actually danced in front of the audience, but we thought it would be fun if we could do the exercises together at the stage greeting!

Matsuoka Yes ......, that's right ...... (laughs).

--Hara: This may be a bit of a forced move (laughs), but TECHNOBOYS is also in charge of the musical accompaniment this time, isn't that right?

Hara: TECHNOBOYS' music has been very cool since the TV series. It's fashionable and stylish.

Matsuoka I want to have the soundtrack. I want to listen to it over and over (laughs). (laughs) Fujimuratoworu, one of the members, was at the recording studio.

Hara: It was a long day, but he was there until the end. I was thrilled to think that he was able to grasp the story of the film and the atmosphere of our performance before creating the accompaniment to the play!

--Did you actually play along with each other during the postrecording?

Hara: Yes, we recorded it together. It was great to be able to act in such a realistic environment.

Matsuoka The members of Trinity Seven were all there, so we were able to work in a good environment.

--Hara Is there anything that left an impression on you during the postrecording?

Hara: The food that the cast brought in and the gifts from the staff were very generous!　Hiyotchi (Yoko Hikasa), who played Mila Yamana, brought us tangerines, and there was an "acai" drink with beauty benefits. ......

Matsuoka I tried the acai drink before the show started, but the acai was stuck in my throat throughout the show. ...... No matter how much I coughed, it was still in the back of my throat. ...... (laugh). Luckily it didn't seem to affect my performance, but I thought that was something I should go home and drink slowly (laughs).

Maybe the production team is trying to make the film in a sexy way?

--Do you feel that Arata and Lilith have grown in any way in this film?

Matsuoka It's the same as before, but this story is a continuation from the TV series, so rather than their growth, I was more worried about whether we could bring them back to what they were four years ago.

Hara: With the first movie in between, we certainly had to get back into anime mode. However, since we have been doing this project for a long time, the teamwork was very good, and all the cast members seemed to have a sense of being able to get back into it easily. I think we will be able to see a new side of the Trinity Seven members, and I hope that you will look forward to it.

Matsuoka: Personally, I think that Arata keeps saying, "I'm going to bring back the Holy!" but before you know it, they are fighting together.

--I'm sure there are a lot of fans who are looking forward to the "skin-colored scenes" as well. ......

Matsuoka: Well, I was surprised that Nao Higashiyama (who plays Lieselotte Charlock) was able to give such an extreme performance (laughs).

Hara It's not easy to go that far. ...... Even as a woman, the thought of hearing it on a big screen in a movie theater at a high volume makes me nervous.

Matsuoka It was amazing during recording, wasn't it?

Hara I was listening to the scene outside the booth, and even though I was discussing with the cast about the next scene, I couldn't help but notice their acting. ......

Matsuoka I thought about putting in my own ad-libs to make it milder, but apparently they were not adopted. ...... I thought the production team was trying to make the film in a sexy way (laughs).

Hara That may be so.

Matsuoka Perhaps I should have acted more coquettishly ......?

Hara That would have made it impossible to play in movie theaters (laughs)!

--Hara That would not be played in the movie theaters!

Matsuoka He looks a lot like Arata. I can only say this much because it's still before the release of the film and I can't spoil it yet. ...... (laughs).

Hara Lilith is the daughter of Avis, so I don't think she is just a villain. Please pay attention to the interaction with her. The battle scenes are also very powerful, so I hope you will enjoy them as well.

Matsuoka I can't go into details, but there is a description in the last scene that really caught my attention. I wonder if it is connected to the relationship between Arata and Abbyss. Please check the details on the screen!

-By the way, if the two of you were the son or daughter of a demon king, what would you like to do?

Matsuoka Well, I would like to ....... I would like to live a slow and peaceful life.

Hara I think so too!　If I were that powerful, I might be blissfully happy. You don't have to go out of your way to do something like "I'm going to destroy the human world! I feel that we can live in peace (?) without having to go to the trouble of "destroying the human world! I feel that we can lead a peaceful (?) life without having to go out of our way to "destroy the human world! When a brave man who threatens our life comes to attack our house, I might cheer him up from the back saying, "Go for it, Dad! and I will cheer behind your back. ...... (laugh).

--Lastly, could you give us a message?

Matsuoka: We, the entire cast, have been working hard on the second feature film version, and those who have seen the TV series and the previous feature film version, you can count on us!　We hope that you will take this opportunity to invite your friends and get them involved in the "Trinity Seven" whirlpool. Oh, but if you go with friends, you might get into a strange mood. ...... (laughs) With serious, erotic scenes and powerful battles, I guarantee that the quality of the movie will make it worth seeing, so I hope you will see it on the big, powerful screen in the movie theater!

Hara: Thanks to everyone's support, I have been able to work on "Trinity Seven" for such a long time, and I am very grateful for that. With the decision to produce and release the film, there have been events such as the "Sundance Screening" and "Trinity seveN" that will give people who have never heard of "Trinity seveN" a chance to learn about this world, and I feel that this is creating a positive trend.
