Summer Wars" 10th Anniversary! Production of a tie-up commercial with Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Co! Scheduled to be released this early summer!

It was announced that Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company has decided to produce a tie-up commercial with the animated film "Summer Wars" directed by Mamoru Hosoda, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year and is scheduled to be released in early summer 2019.

Mamoru Hosoda, the director of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," which became a long-running hit by word of mouth and won numerous domestic and international awards, released the movie "Summer Wars" in 2009. The film, which reunited the staff of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," including character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and screenwriter Sadoko Okudera, features Kenji Koiso, a timid 17-year-old science student whose only talent is mathematics, who has suddenly joined a large family in the countryside. The story is about Kenji and his large family who unite to fight against the world crisis that has been caused by a strange turn of events.
As soon as the film was released, it became popular by word of mouth and became an exceptionally long-running hit for an original animation. It has been aired frequently on terrestrial TV as a summer vacation tradition, and still boasts strong popularity today.

In 2019, "Summer Wars" will mark 10 years since its release. Studio Chizu will be developing various projects to commemorate this anniversary year under the theme "UPDATE" for the Studio Chizu 2019 in Summer "Summer Wars" 10th Anniversary Project. As one of the projects, a tie-up commercial with Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company has been decided and is scheduled to be released in early summer 2019.

In conjunction with this, a teaser site was opened today, March 29 (Friday). The site will be used to disseminate information about the release of the new commercial.

In May, a new tie-up visual by Hiroyuki Aoyama, who belongs to Studio Chizu and was the animation director of "Summer Wars," will also be released.
