PS4 "New Sakura Wars" to be released in winter 2019! A new story of the new "Imperial Kagekidan" led by the new main character, Seijuro Kamiyama!

Sega Games announced at the "Sega Fest 2019" event held at Bellesalle Akihabara on March 30 and 31, 2019, that it will release a completely new installment of the "Sakura Wars" series, "New Sakura Wars," for PlayStation 4.

The game is scheduled for release this winter in Japan and Asia, and spring 2020 in North America and Europe.

New Sakura Wars" is a dramatic 3D action adventure set in the fictional "Taisho Era" imperial capital of Tokyo, and follows the exploits of the "Teikoku Kagekidan" as they fight against evil.

The main character design is by Kubo Taito, known as the author of the manga "BLEACH" serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha). The music is by Kouhei Tanaka, who has provided many songs for previous titles in the series. The story will be written by Ishiijiro, who is active in a variety of media, including video games, TV animation, and movies.

The story begins in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, 12 years after "Sakura Taisen V: Saraba Aishiki Hito. The "New Imperial Blowout" led by Seijuro Kamiyama, the main character of the game, clashes with the "Descendents" who have appeared in the Imperial Capital once again, and with the "Blowout" that has been created in various cities around the world.

The game system is based on the series' familiar "adventure" and "battle" sequences, in which players repeatedly develop bonds with the heroines!　In the adventure part, players can freely explore the Imperial Theater and the streets of Ginza, which are depicted in 3D graphics, and enjoy communication with the members of the Imperial Riflemen and various stories. By fostering trust with the heroines, you can not only influence the storyline but also gain an advantage in the battle part. Of course, various elements such as animation movies and mini-games will liven up the game.

Seijuro Kamiyama (CV: Yohei Azaue)
The main character in "New Sakura Wars. He is 20 years old and the captain of the "Imperial Blowout Squadron, Hana-gumi".
He was formerly a captain of a special navy ship, but was transferred to the Teikoku Kagekidan and appointed captain of the new "Teikoku Kagekidan Hana-gumi".


Sakura Amamiya (CV: Ayane Sakura)
She is a 17-year-old member of the "Imperial Blowout Squadron, Hanagumi.
She is a newcomer who joined the Hanagumi because of her admiration for the former top star of the Hanagumi, Sakura Shinguji. She has strong feelings for both the Imperial Blowout Squad Hanagumi, which protects the Imperial Capital, and the Imperial Opera Company Hanagumi, which is the emotional support of the citizens of the Imperial Capital, and strongly wishes to rebuild both.


Hatsuho Shinonome (CV: Marei Uchida)
She is a 17-year-old member of the Imperial Revue Hanagumi.
She is a shrine maiden and the signature daughter of the Shinonome Shrine, which has been in the Imperial Capital for generations. She was born in downtown Tokyo and is a genuine Edo (present-day Tokyo) girl who loves the downtown area, its festivals, and everyone in the town. She is usually crass, but is the leader of the Hanagumi, a group that everyone relies on.


Azami Mochizuki (CV: Hibiki Yamamura)
She is a 13-year-old member of the "Hanagumi," or the Imperial Guerrilla Army's Hanagumi.
She is a descendant of the Mochizuki-style ninja family and has prodigious talent in martial arts, tactics, and weaponry at an early age. She has been raised strictly since before she can remember, and strongly believes in the "108 codes" that have been handed down in the Shinobi village, and values the observance of these codes.


Anastasia Palma (CV: Ayaka Fukuhara)
She is a 19-year-old member of the "Hanagumi," the Imperial Guerrilla Force. Born in Greece.
She is a star in European theaters. After working for a number of theater companies, she transferred to the Teikoku Kagekidan. She has top-class skills in both singing and acting, and her looks allow her to play a wide range of roles, from male roles to sexy female roles.


Clarice (CV: Saori Hayami)
She is a 16-year-old member of the "Imperial Kagekidan, Hana-gumi. She is from Luxembourg.
She is an intelligent and pretty literary girl who loves to read books. She is very curious and learns a lot of things through books. Her real name is Clarissa Snowflake. She is the heiress of "heavy magic," a book-based magic handed down in the Snowflake family, a Luxembourg aristocrat.

I have poured my heart and soul into "Sakura no uta" (Songs of Sakura) with my whole life as a writer.

Of course, I have created many songs, including the theme song, for this "Sakura Wars: New Chapter".

I am confident that they will strike a chord in your hearts and move you in a new way that is no less impressive than the Sakura Songs of the past.

Would you like to participate in the reboot of "Sakura Wars"? I received such an invitation from Sega in 2016.

I hesitated. I was torn. Was I qualified? Sakura Wars" was the winner of the first Japan Game Awards and a pioneering title that ushered in an era.

Three years have passed since then. I am standing at the place of this challenge. The reason for my decision was that the person who approached me was the producer of "428" on the Sega side. 428" challenged the legendary "City.

And "New Sakura Wars" will challenge the legendary "Sakura Wars. Now the curtain rises.

About "Sakura Wars
Sakura Taisen" is a steampunk game set in the fictional "Taisho Era" where steam technology has developed.

The first "Sakura Wars," released in September 1996 as software for the Sega Saturn, depicted the activities of the secret organization "Teikoku Kagekidan," which was formed to protect the peace of the Imperial capital, Tokyo. The game's story, in which the "Kagekidan" performs on the stage as the stalwarts of the Imperial Theater in times of peace, and in times of crisis they fight using their spiritual power as weapons, the game system in which trust with friends becomes power, and the animated TV production style that embellishes the story have won the support of many players. The game won the Best Picture Award at the CESA Grand Prize (now the Japan Game Awards) in 1996.
