Anime writers' picks for the five most noteworthy spring 2019 anime! [Anime Column

There are more than 60 spring 2019 anime, according to Akiba Research Institute. Although there are about 10 fewer than last year, the lineup is still rich in variety. So this time, we have lined up the spring anime of interest. The latest work by director Shinichiro Watanabe, "Carol & Tuesday," "Demon Slayer," serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump," "KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars-," which was created from "Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live," "The Wise Son," a remarkable otherworldly reincarnation anime, "The Wise Son," and "The Wise Son," an original anime from "Noitamina. Carol & Tuesday

The first two-cour work for Fuji Television's late-night anime slot "+Ultra" is the latest work by Shinichiro Watanabe, director of "Cowboy Bebop" and "Apollon of the Hill". Set 50 years after humans moved to Mars, two girls, Carol and Tuesday, aspire to become musicians in a world where many cultures have been created by AI.
Although details of the original title have not been revealed, profiles of the characters are now available on the official website. In the PV, Tuesday is impressively depicted playing a big guitar. The singing scenes are all in English, and the extraordinary passion for music can be felt in this film.

Demon Slayer

This is an adventure story about Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist whose family was killed by demons, and his journey to save his sister Priestess, who was mutated into an ogre. The second PV shows the tension-filled sword fight and the colorful kimono patterns, which are sure to attract attention as a period drama anime.
The cast includes Hanae Natsuki as Sumijiro and Kito Akari as Nezuko. The coward Zenitsu Wagatsuma is played by Hiro Shimono, who drew laughter at the AnimeJapan event when he shouted out Zenitsu's "dirty high-pitched voice. A special screening of episodes 1 through 5 is currently being shown in movie theaters (*Screening will be limited to two weeks from Friday, March 29, 2019). Those who are curious about the rest of the story after watching the first broadcast can enjoy the beginning of the story on the theater screen.

KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars-.

KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm" was released in theaters in 2016 and popularized the cheering screening style. The Prism show combines singing, dancing, and figure skating, and its greatest appeal is the euphoric feeling not found in regular live performances. Prism jumps, which express a leap of the heart, transform the live venue into a world of imagination, leading the audience to a dream space where they do not know where they are.
The third series, "Shiny Seven Stars," focuses on Ichijo Shin and the other prismatic star candidates individually and depicts their growth as unique individuals. A theatrical version of this film is also being released prior to its on-air premiere. The theatrical version had dialogue for the audience to record, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the TV anime.

The Wise Son

An animated adaptation of an otherworldly fantasy novel that originated on "Shosetsu-kaerou" (Novelist's Almanac). The main character, Shin, who was reincarnated as a baby, is picked up by the sage Merlin, and while receiving an elite education in magic, he learns extraordinary abilities. He learns to use an original technique that combines memories from a previous life, and at the age of 15, he becomes a wizard that surpasses his grandfather. He enters the Institute of Advanced Magic at the top of his class, and throws himself into the turmoil that engulfs the nation.
Shin boasts of his overwhelming power, but he is also a bit naive because Merlin forgot to teach him "common sense. He is a bit naive, "Did I do something wrong again? The unique promotions of the anime, such as the audition of a female virtual talent as the ED theme artist, are also a topic of conversation.

Sarazammai

This is the first new original anime in four years from Kunihiko Ikuhara, director of "Revolutionary Girl Utena" and "Rinru Ping Drum. The chaotic synopsis of the film is about three junior high school boys who are transformed into kappas after their buttocks are pulled out, and they search for zombie buttocks in order to return to their original form. How will the unusual combination of kappa, zombies, and Asakusa intertwine with the themes of "connection" and "desire"?
The PV also features landmarks such as the Kaminarimon gate, the Tokyo Sky Tree, and the golden flamme d'or. The background art reproduction of Asakusa is also a sight to behold. The main cast members, Ayumi Murase, Koki Uchiyama, and Shun Horie, have revealed that there is a lot of foreshadowing from the beginning, and like previous "Ikuni" works, this will be an anime that you cannot miss even for a moment.
