How the Story Moves with the Visit of a Super Idol! Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale - Loose Thoughts - Episode 7 "So I'll Have It All!"
Episode 7 of the anime "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" features the mermaid world's super idol Chelle. The story begins anew with the unexpected appearance of a new fish.
At the beginning of the episode, it is mentioned that "Shabon," which has been played as the ending song of each episode so far, is the theme song of an old movie and was recently covered by the idol "Chelle," who is known as a diva. In the first half of the series, the story of "Karapare" has revolved around mermaid girls and a mysterious movie theater, but now "idols" are finally making a full-fledged appearance. Vanguard" is an idol group of mermaids, and this film is a spin-off of the clan (organization).
The story begins when a mermaid girl visits the village of Parrel. Her name is Chelle. Yes, she is a super idol who sings "Shabon" and is a favorite of the village's idol lover, Coda. When Chelle asks Sonata and the others to show her around the village, she is selfish, buying up all the cakes at Fermat's store and taking Fina's room for herself. Kanon, who is treated as having something in common with Chelle, looks complicated.
Sonata and the others had forgiven Chelle's selfishness with a bitter smile, but when Chelle made fun of the movie theater that the five of them cherish, it was Kanon who was resolute and angry. Each of us has feelings that we have poured into this place and many memories that we have created together. It is touching that it is Kanon, who at first thought that there was nothing in the village of Parrel, who tells them that there is something important "there" there.
And at his words, Chelle is distraught like a child. For Chelle, who has been an idol since she was a small child, the fact that there is nothing she wants to express and nothing she wants to do seems to be a complex, and perhaps a barrier to her continuing her idol career.
However, after hearing Kanon's straightforward words, seeing the village children singing for the baby mermaid and the villagers watching the musical film at the movie theater, and perhaps getting a good night's sleep for the first time in a long time, Chelle seems to have had some change in her mindset.
During the showing of a musical film, a problem with the old screening equipment prevented the audience from hearing the singing in the film. Chelle, watching the people clamoring for a song, makes up her mind to go to the front of the screen. But at this moment, the sound and images are partially restored. The villagers and children gathered in the theater start singing along with the movie.
Personally, I love the way this scene is presented. I think Chelle probably wanted to sing for these people, to do something about it. But she doesn't actually sing. It's not a scene where a famous diva should appear in person and make a scene with surprise singing, and above all, that place is a theater created by the sonatas, not Chelle's stage.
But for the sake of the audience in front of her, who were looking for a song, Chelle herself felt the need to sing and tried to take action. That alone changed her own world, even if nothing actually happened. I really like the understated and careful depiction of this kind of work, which doesn't tell the whole story, doesn't explain everything, but there are certainly thoughts and stories depicted in it .......
By the way, "Shabon" in the musical film is sung by Etsuko Hatsuda, a singer in her own right. Yasuyuki Yamazaki rearranged the music to classical musical film specifications, and I can feel his attention to detail. And the ending theme "Shabon" is a chelle version, which I never expected. It was sung by Rumi Okubo. She is a good singer, after all! It occurred to me that this gentle and expressive voice of Chelle might be that of Chelle after her modest experience in the village of Parrel.
The anime "Bermuda Triangle - Colorful Pastorale" is available for free on YouTube Vanguard channel from March 23, 2019 (Sat) to April 7, 2019 (Sun) at 23:59. When you need a little healing, why don't you enjoy the gentle world?
