Cast and artist comments] *Honorifics omitted.
Akari Kito as Kotoko Iwanaga
I thought it was going to be a serious mystery, but it was a completely new kind of mystery work in which the characters "deduce lies," and I couldn't help but wonder what would happen when I read it and wondered how the story would continue!
In addition to that, the interaction between Kotoko and Kuro in their mysterious relationship was very interesting, and I hope to be able to perform such conversational drama and reasoning in an easy-to-understand and more appealing way in the anime!
I will do my best to help those who start with the anime as well as fans of the original to enjoy it as much as possible!
Mamoru Miyano as Kuro Sakuragawa
I couldn't imagine what "fictional reasoning" meant at first, but after reading the book, I was greatly convinced. This is exactly what "fictional deduction" is! The mystery stories that I know are about deductions to reveal the truth. This story, however, is about fictional reasoning to establish a fiction. The idea of creating a fiction that surpasses the truth is wonderful, and I read the original story with great enthusiasm, thinking how interesting it would be. And the existence of "ayakashi" is indispensable to make the fiction work. It is truly a fusion of fantasy and authentic mystery. Ayakashi" is a very important point for "Guro Sakuragawa," the character I play, so I would like to express myself in the role of "Ayakashi" by going for it!
Misato Fukuen Misato as Saki Yumihara
It's a bit of a different kind of mystery play, where Kotoko-chan logically solves unseen cases, and it's a very poignant piece of work!
I play Saki, a police officer who looks more ennui than her age and is Kuro-kun's ex-girlfriend. I play Saki, a police officer with a more ennui than her age and Kuro-kun's ex-girlfriend!
Uesaka Sumire as Karin Nanase
My name is Uesaka Sumire, and I will be playing the role of Karin Nanase!
Karin is an idol girl whose death holds the key to the story.
She is an idol girl who holds the key to the story due to the death of her idol. Please join Kotoko and the others in unraveling the mystery behind Nanase the steel worker!
Kenji Hamada as Detective Terada
If you want to know the meaning of the title "fictional mystery," you can read the original novel or comic book.
I will beplaying the role of Terada, an earnest, strong, and pure detective, and together wewill get to the bottom of the"Steel Man Nanase" mystery that is happening in Makurazaka City!
■Lies and Chameleons
The story is a novel one, in which you can not only solve the mystery but also create your own truths and fictions. I wrote this piece with an extraordinary amount of passion to make it into a piece of music.
The speedy development and geometrical construction of the mystery are expressed in the arrangement, and Kotoko's passion is expressed in the melody. I expressed Kotoko's passion in the melody and the unique "fictional reasoning" in the lyrics. The "lie and chameleon" style is also in full swing!
