From "Sakura Wars," a completely new game that is also set to be released, comes a figure of "Sakura Shinmiya-ji" with a large red ribbon and fluttering black hair!

Aquamarine Inc. will release a 1/9th scale figure of Sakura Shinguji from the "Sakura Wars" series in July 2019, and pre-orders began today, April 9, 2019.

The first "Sakura Wars," released in September 1996 as software for the Sega Saturn, depicted the activities of the secret organization "Teikoku Kagekidan," which was formed to protect the peace of the Imperial capital, Tokyo. The game's story, in which the players play as the "Kagekidan," a group that performs on stage as stalwarts of the Imperial Theater in times of peace, and in times of crisis, they fight using their spiritual powers as weapons, a game system in which trust with friends becomes power, and an animated TV production style that embellishes the story, have won the support of many players. The game won the Best Picture Award at the CESA Grand Prize (now the Japan Game Awards) in 1996.
It was also the biggest-selling original title on the Sega Saturn at the time, and the cumulative domestic shipments of the series and related titles up to "Sakura Taisen V: Saraba Aishiki Hito" released in July 2005 exceeded 3.8 million units.

The popularity of the "Sakura Taisen" series, which has expanded its stage of activity to include "Teito," "Tomari," and "Cordomo," is not limited to games, but has developed through a media mix that includes a TV series, theatrical animation, stages, and comics. The "Sakura Taisen" series has established itself as a popular series and continues to spread to various regions and media even after 20 years since its birth.

A 1/9 scale figure of "Sakura Shinguji" from the "Sakura Wars" series will be released in July 2019 by Aquamarine, and pre-orders began today, April 9, 2019.

Based on an illustration by Hidenori Matsubara, the figure depicts a dignified yet dainty Sakura standing above Koubu in her Hanagumi battle uniform, holding her beloved sword "Reiken Arataka" in one hand.
The detailed modeling of the sword, Arataka, and the cherry blossom coloring that matches the texture of both her battle uniform and Mitsutake, make this figure a gem of attention to detail.
