Two works are in a dead heat! The results of the "Which Anime Completed This Season? 2019 Summer Anime Popularity Poll" results!

Akiba Research Institute held an official voting project from September 25 to October 10, 2019, titled "Which anime completed this season?　2019 Summer Anime Popularity Poll" poll was closed. The results gave the impression that the results were somewhat surprising compared to the usual season. First, let's take a look at the top 10 that we are interested in.

Among the 73098 votes cast in this poll, the two works that received more than 10,000 votes in a dead heat until the end were " Karakajide no Takagi-san 2 " and " Re:Stage! Dream Days♪". In the end, "Mr. Takagi, the Master of Teasing 2" came out on top with 19235 votes, a difference of more than 3,000 votes, but the dead heat between the two works was most impressive.

The most impressive result was the dead heat between the two works. " Karakajite no Takagi-san 2 " is the second season of an anime work based on a comic series published in Shogakukan's "Gessan. The first season, which began airing in January 2018, was extremely popular, and the second season aired about a year and a half later! In the second season, Ms. Takagi's cuteness was even more powerful! The two girls got close to each other so quickly that even the viewers were dying of heartbreak (laugh). (Laughs.) Such was the popularity of the series that after the second season ended, it became such a social phenomenon that the term " Takagi-san loss " was even used to describe it. It seems safe to say that the show has kept up its momentum and has taken the number one spot.

The " Re:Stage! Dream Days" is an anime work about a junior high school girls' idol group. Based on the comic "Re:Stage! and a smartphone game "Re:Stage! Prism Step" is also being developed as a media mix work. The characters are cute, and the songs and story are also good, and many people commented that it was a highly rated work that greatly exceeded the expectations before the airing (ranked 22nd in the "2019 Summer Anime Popularity Poll").

Although the gap between this first and second place was wide, the third-place winner was " High School Girl's Wasteful Use of Time. This comedy work depicts the daily lives of high school girls who are a bit unfortunate, such as idiots, otaku, and robots, and was a stable favorite among this summer's anime. Although it is a comedy work overall, it is also highly evaluated for its good character design and drawings, and it gained many male as well as female fans, resulting in a stable No. 3 ranking.

Looking at the works ranked 4th and below, it is striking that there are many light comedy works this season, including "Karakajite no Takagi-san 2" (No. 1) and "Joshi Koujo-no-Waizukai" (No. 3), as well as " Tejin Senpai " (No. 4), " Sawunan Desu ka? and " How Many Dumbbells Can You Hold? are also ranked in the top 10. Furthermore, "Senpai Senpai" and "Is it a Seonan? are exceptional in that they are short (15 minutes) but received high acclaim. The "Tejitsu Senpai" and "Sounan desu ka?" were often depicted in a soft sex style, but the character portrayals were superb, and the works were surprisingly deep. In addition, "Sounan desu ka?" and "How many dumbbells can you hold? and " How Many Dumbbells Can You Hold? were also highly rated overall, with many people saying that their contents were "surprisingly informative," despite their silly-looking themes.

Also, works such as " Toaru Kagaku no One-way Street " (6th), " Beyond Astra " (9th), and " Given" (10th) were highly anticipated even before their airing and were all in the top 10 in the " 2019 Summer Anime Popularity Poll ". It was a top 10 entry while maintaining a stable popularity. Conversely, "Machikado Mazoku," which ranked 5th, was not ranked as high as 18th in terms of expectations, but made a big jump up to 5th place thanks to the stable popularity of the "Kirara" series.

The highly anticipated " Dr. Stone," " It is wrong to seek encounters in a dungeon II," and " Lord Hermeroy II's Casebook -Magic Eye Collecting Train Grace note-" regrettably failed to make the top 10.
