Anime "Fruits Basket" Event Report Arrives! Casts perform Fulba-style scary stories in a reading play!

A special event for the 1st season of the TV anime "Fruits Basket," which aired for 2 cool seasons starting in April 2019, was held at Misato City Cultural Hall in Saitama Prefecture on Saturday, October 19, 2019. A total of 13 cast members performed talks and recitation plays. The event also featured a live performance by Beverly, who sang the opening theme of the first season, and the release of an advance video of the second season, which is scheduled to air in 2020.

What is "Fruits Basket"?

Fruits Basket" (original story by Natsuki Takaya) is a popular girls' manga serialized in "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha) from 1998 to 2006. The manga sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, was adapted into the first TV anime in 2001 for the TV Tokyo network, and was adapted into a stage play in 2009. Another" began serialization on the web in September 2015, and the total number of copies of the comics (three volumes already published) has reached 550,000.

Then, in April 2019, it was adapted into an anime with a new staff and cast, with the first season airing on TV Tokyo and elsewhere.

The story begins with a high school girl, Tohru Honda, who has lost her mother, the only family she had left, and lives with her classmate Yuki Kusama and her relatives, Shigure and Rene, by chance. On Saturday, October 19, 2019, "Fruits Basket 1st season - Let the Party Begin - Special Event" was held at Misato City Cultural Hall.

As soon as the event started, the opening movie was shown, with the characters appearing one after another, and the audience cheered loudly. Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kusama Hatori, Takahiro Sakurai as Kusama Ayame, Rena Ueda as Kusama Kirisa, Ichiha Daichi as Kusama Toji, Kengo Kawanishi as Kusama Ritsu, Atsumi Tanazaki as Arisa Uoya, and Satomi Sato as Hanashima Saki appeared on stage.

The first event was a talk corner looking back on the TV anime "Fruits Basket," which just finished broadcasting its 1st season over a two-cour period (April to September 2019). As a memorable scene, Sakurai-san mentioned episode 13, Ayame Kusama's appearance scene.

The group moved to Shikure's house, where Shikure, Hatori, Ayame, Kirisa, Toji, and Ritsu joined them, each with a scary story full of personality.

The audience applauded loudly as the original story was full of laughter, as is typical of Fruits Basket, with ad-libs.
