Special feature] Serialization in commemoration of the Boitama Project Reading Theater vol.2 "white Swan+"! Interview with Chisato Yoshitake in Part 3!

The Voitama Project, a project in which new voice actors take on various challenges with the aim of becoming world-class voice artists, will hold a reading theater vol. 2 "white Swan+" on November 2 and 3, 2019.

Boitama Project Reading Theater vol. 2 "white Swan+" is a re-staging of the reading theater event "whiteSwan" held on March 27 at Ebisu Tenmado.switch, with two versions: "ver. Denev" with the same cast as the previous performance, and "ver. Albireo" in which the cast has been shuffled.

The five new female voice actors belonging to the Boitama Project, Ruri Arai, Akane Kumada, Moeba Gomoto, Marina Horiuchi, and Chisato Yoshitake, will perform in the show. The reading play, in which the girls, who are working hard every day toward their dreams despite the obstacles they face, play the same rookie voice actors as themselves, is packed with entertainment elements, including acting and singing!

Akiba Research Institute interviewed the five girls, who are currently rehearsing for the performance! We asked them what they were thinking about for the performance, what they usually think about, why they wanted to be a voice actor, and what they wanted to do. We also asked them about their reasons for becoming voice actors and their episodes.

The third interview is with Chisato Yoshitake, who sings the ending theme song for the TV anime "Star Twinkle Pretty Cure" that is currently airing.

She is not only a talented actor but also a singer, and we asked her to answer a variety of questions about this reading play.

───Please begin by introducing yourself.

Yoshitake My name is Chisato Yoshitake, I am 20 years old and from Hiroshima Prefecture. My favorite things are baked potatoes and tomatoes!

───Mr. Yoshitake, your name is already well known throughout Japan as a singer, thanks to the ending theme song of "Star Twinkle Pretty Cure," which is currently airing on TV.

Yoshitake: I originally wanted to be someone who could sing and dance like the E-girls, so at first I took singing and dancing lessons, but then my teacher asked me, "You have a distinctive voice, what about a career as a voice actress? I've been watching anime since I was a little girl. I have been watching cartoons since I was a child, and even as an adult, I still remember them. I thought it would be nice to have a job that would remain in my memory forever, so I decided to become a voice actor.

──What anime has left a lasting impression on you?

Yoshitake: When I was a child, I watched a lot of anime such as Jiburi anime, but my favorite work was "Love Live! is my favorite work.

─ ─ My favorite anime are also those that feature singing and dancing! Were you aware that you have a distinctive voice?

Yoshitake: People have been imitating my voice for a long time. But I had no idea I had such a voice until I heard a recording of my voice and was told, "This is the voice everyone is listening to.

─ ─ Is it difficult to do voice acting?

Yoshitake: It is difficult. I had never done any acting before, and I learned a lot in lessons after I joined the agency. Moreover, you have to convey everything with just your voice, and you have to breathe life into the character. It's a lot of work, but I really enjoy the daily lessons.

I saw the first performance and I thought you performed without any sense of discomfort. Was this your first time doing a reading play?

Yoshitake: Yes. It was the first time in my life. I was very nervous because I could see the audience's faces and their expressions from the stage. I was very nervous because I could see the audience's faces so close to me, and I could see their expressions from the stage. I was very nervous because I could see the audience's faces up close and could see their expressions from the stage, so I was very nervous.

─ ─ In this reading play, you play the role of Himari-chan, a new voice actress.

Yoshitake: The Himari-chan I played in vol. 1 was more in line with my own character, so it was easy to play. Everyone said to me, "You are just as you are" (laughs).

─ ─ In vol. 2, you play the same role as last time in Denev, and in Albireo, you play the energetic Yuki.

Yoshitake: The characters are the exact opposite. She is energetic and says what she thinks, which is basically the opposite of Himari's character.

(At the time of this interview), we haven't yet put the characters together, so I'm excited to see how it will turn out when we all play the role together. I already have an image of each character from vol. 1.

─ ─ And in this reading play, the background music is a live piano, isn't it?

Yoshitake That's right! That's a surprise, isn't it? It is really gorgeous. There is a scene in which the cast sings, and the parts change as the cast changes, so that is also a highlight.

───What do you find attractive about your co-stars?

Yoshitake: Ruri is the oldest of the three, so she leads and watches over everyone, and she is a dependable older sister, which I find attractive. We have a group LINE, and she actively comments on it.

Kumachan (Akane Kumada) is my classmate and we are close in age. We hang out in private and can talk about anything. I have dreamed of being on stage with her, so she is a very encouraging presence.

Moe-chan (Moeha Gomoto) is like a "younger sister. She spoils me and makes me want to protect her. She is really cute.

(Marina (Horiuchi) is the same age as me, but she is a senior in the industry, so she is like an older sister. She sang a solo in the last reading play, so I have a lot to learn from her.

─ What kind of voice actor do you want to be in the future?

Yoshitake: Like the people I like, I would like to be a source of energy, whether through myself or through the characters I play, that makes people want to work hard tomorrow when they watch the show. My target voice actors are Rikako Aida and Yui Ogura.

─ Thank you very much. Now, in closing, please tell us again about the highlights of the "Voitama Project Reading Theater vol. 2 "white Swan+"".

Yoshitake: The cast changes between ver. denev and ver. albireo, so I think you will enjoy it in various ways. The role of Yuki-chan in Albireo is a challenging one for me, so I think you will see a different side of me.

Those who saw the reading play vol. 1 in March and I already have an image of the role, so we have to think about how we can change it, and there will be a little bit of content added, so I hope you will enjoy it.

─ ─ I am looking forward to it! Now, please give a message to our readers!
