Smartphone Game "OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Highlander" Surpasses 200,000 Pre-Registrations! New music by Yasutomo Nishiki released & rewards for reaching 300,000 users also announced!

Square Enix announced that advance registrations for the smartphone RPG "OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Highlanders" have surpassed 200,000 users.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Highlanders" is the latest title in the "OCTOPATH TRAVELER" series of RPGs for Nintendo Switch, which has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide by total shipments and downloads. The smartphone version of the game is a free-to-play single-player RPG with a new story set several years before the Orstella continent where the eight main characters of "OCTOPATH TRAVELER" traveled.

The fantastic HD-2D world is realized on smartphones by adding "3DCG" screen effects to "dot pictures". The game features advanced command battles with a party of up to eight players and field commands that allow players to communicate with townspeople in a variety of ways. The game system has been optimized for smartphones to make it easy to play the charms of "OCTOPATH TRAVELER," allowing players to enjoy new role-playing experiences as they confront a great evil that has achieved great wealth, power, and prestige.

The theme song for "Herminia," the master of wealth, was created with an awareness of expressing both the overwhelming sense of intimidation she possesses and the melancholy that is somehow hidden behind it.
In the past, Octopath Traveler did not have many battle songs that expressed specific characters, but this time, each villain has its own theme song and battle song.
