Evangelion Chukyo Area Project - From Nagoya and Sasashima Live to the World" will be implemented from January to March 2020, and as the first phase of the project, the installation of a giant standing statue of Evangelion the first plane <6m> at "Sasashima Live" and "Evangelion Centrair" at "Central Japan International Airport Centrair" and an artwork exhibition have been announced. The project, "Evangelion Chukyo Area Project: From Nagoya and Sasashima Live to the World," will be held from January to March 2020 in collaboration with the popular anime "Evangelion," which is gaining momentum with the release of its latest film in 2020, and the Chukyo area centering on Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture. As the first phase of the project, the installation of a giant standing statue of Evangelion Evangelion Evangelion Type-1 <6m> at Sasashima Live and the installation and artwork exhibition of a giant standing statue of Evangelion Evangelion Type-1 <gold color> at Centrair, Central Japan International Airport, were announced.

In this project, the space will be decorated with Evangelion, one of Japan's most popular anime contents, centering on Sasashima Live, Nagoya's newest town, which is a "hub of international welcome and exchange". The project will be held at Sasashima Live in Nagoya, where Chukyo TV, celebrating its 50th anniversary, is headquartered, at Central Japan International Airport Centrair, which serves as the gateway to Japan and overseas, and throughout Aichi Prefecture and overseas.

Sasashima Live is said to resemble the image of the Third New Tokyo City, the setting of Evangelion's works, from the viewpoint of Sasashima Live. Nagoya, the "third city of Japan," is an area reminiscent of the Third New Tokyo City, the setting of the Evangelion film, and there are many points of affinity between the two cities in terms of their "third city (capital)" status.
In order to make Nagoya a place of great excitement with Eva fans in Japan and abroad who are excited about the release of the new film, rare contents unique to Nagoya have been prepared in the plan.

The first two events announced today are the installation of a giant standing statue of Evangelion Evangelion Type-1 <6m> at Sasashima Live, and the installation and artwork exhibition of a giant golden Evangelion Type-1 at Centrair, the Central Japan International Airport.

Evangelion: Special exhibition of a 6-meter statue of the first Evangelion
Location: Global Gate 1F Atrium
With the cooperation of NEXCO Central Japan, the legendary giant standing statue of the world's largest first plane (at that time) appeared at the NERV Central Japan EVANGELION Ashigara (EXPASA Ashigara, downhill) in 2016, attracting a great deal of attention. In this project, a 6-meter statue of the first plane will be displayed in the center of Global Gate, a commercial complex that is a landmark of Sasashima Live.

Special exhibition of the "Golden" Evangelion Type-1 statue
Location: Terminal 1, 2nd floor, Arrival Lobby
A 3-meter-high gold statue of Evangelion the First will welcome travelers in the arrival lobby, which is used by approximately 1.5 million international passengers in fiscal 2018 (January-March).
It will be a symbolic monument befitting the gateway to the project, which also aims to promote inbound and outbound tourism and cultural exchange.

An exhibition reconstructed with approximately 200 production materials carefully selected from the "Evangelion Exhibition" that has been touring the country since 2013.
The exhibition will also include valuable setting materials such as art backgrounds and mechanics, as well as original drawings of famous scenes, which will allow visitors to appreciate the appeal of the new theatrical versions of ":Introduction", ":Break", and ":Q" once again. In addition, original reproductions and setting materials for "Shin Evangelion the Movie," which will be released in June 2020, will also be on display.

The Taiwan Manga Expo was held at the Taipei World Trade Exhibition Hall from August 1 to 5, 2019.
This year, the 20th year of the event, attracted 595,000 visitors. In the Japan Contents Area, we exhibited a PR booth for the "Evangelion Chukyo Region Project" and sold Taiwan-exclusive goods to attract visitors to the Chukyo Region, including Centrair.
