Urakami Chenshu, Morisaki Win, and Min Tanaka join the voice cast of the theatrical animation "Kaijyu no Kodomo"! Cast comments have also arrived!

Kaiju no Kodomo" is an animated feature film based on the comic of the same title by Daisuke Igarashi. STUDIO4℃, winner of the Best Animation Award at the 31st Japan Academy Prize for the movie "Tekkonkinkreet," will be in charge of animation production. Starring Mana Ashida and music by Joe Hisaishi.

The film is set to be released nationwide on June 7, 2019 (Friday), and now additional cast members have been unveiled.

Two boys "Umi" and "Sora" were raised by a dugong, which holds the key to the story along with the main character "Ryuka". The role of "Sora", the older brother of "Umi" played by Yosai Ishibashi, will be newly played by Chenshu Urakami.

It was also announced that Win Morisaki will play the role of Anglade, a genius oceanographer who pursues the mystery of the two boys, and Min Tanaka will play Jim, Anglade's former partner, a marine biologist who is protecting "Umi" and "Sora".

■Sora / Mr. Chenshu Urakami

When I finished reading the original manga, the world around me looked a little different. For me, it was my first experience to play the voice of an animated cartoon. I was very anxious at first, but I really enjoyed the process of voicing the characters.

The atmosphere created by "Sora" is different, and the tempo and rhythm of the dialogues are unique. While talking with Director Watanabe, I was conscious of the balance between his mature speech and the boyishness that he sometimes shows. I would be happy if this film makes the world around you seem a little different when you leave the theater.

Win Morisaki as Anglade

This was my first attempt at voice acting in an animated film, so I watched over and over the footage for the recording before going into production. In "Ready Player 1," it was easy for me to grasp the emotions of the character I played in the dubbed version, but in the animated version, I felt that I had to breathe with the character in the picture.

In the case of animation, however, I felt that I had to "breathe with the character in the picture." In this case, I felt that Anglade and I were two people working alone, and it was a great feeling when we were in sync! It was a great feeling when the two of us were in sync. I also felt that "each picture is the breath of the person who created it. I hope you will be able to witness the collaboration between me, Anglade, and the animators in the film.

Min Tanaka as Jim

After receiving the offer, I received the original book of "Children of the Sea Beast" and read it in one breath. Join us!" I felt as if I could hear it from somewhere. It was a relief to my quivering pulse of curiosity.

As for the recording, I was surrounded by my own voice through the loud headphones, and I realized that the voice is also a body, and it was a job that made me feel both the fun and the extreme nature of acting. I was also able to experience the fun and extreme nature of the work!

Aryu Kubozuka, who was originally cast as "Sora," has decided not to appear in the film for the following reasons.

Due to a change in my voice, it was difficult for me to produce a stable voice, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to the staff. I am very sorry, but I have decided to withdraw from the performance.
I look forward to the completion of the work, using this frustration as a springboard.
