Eden," a new anime by the splendid staff including Yasuhiro Irie of "Hagaren" and Toshihiro Kawamoto of "Cowboy Bebop," will be produced on Netflix!

Netflix, an online streaming service provider, announced the production of the Netflix original animated series "Eden" (scheduled for distribution in 2020). In addition, the teaser art has been released.

Eden" is a science fiction fantasy series that takes place thousands of years in the future.
The city known as "Eden 3" is inhabited only by robots belonging to a master who disappeared long ago. Together, the two robots secretly raise the baby girl in a safe place outside of Eden.

In the teaser art that has been released, the two robots and the human child are seen on top of a green hill. And what is the mysterious view in the far distance? ...... The spectacular worldview and enigmatic storyline are intriguing.

The film is directed by Yasuhiro Irie, who directed "FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST," which created many enthusiastic fans around the world, and produced by Justin Leach. Character design is by Toshihiro Kawamoto of "Cowboy Bebop" fame, and concept design by Christophe Ferreira, creature designer of "Princess Hirune: The Unknown Watashi no Monogatari".
The script was written by Kimiko Ueno, who has worked extensively on various genres of animation, including "Royal Teacher Heine" and "Crayon Shin-chan Ora no Hikka Monogatari Cactus Raid. Clover Hsieh is the background art director, and the music is by Kevin Penkin of "Made in Abyss" fame. Qubic Pictures and CGCG are producing the animation. This work will consist of 4 episodes.

It has also been selected to participate in the "Work in Progress" section at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which will be held from June 10 to 15 to introduce topical works in the process of production.
