Logitech PRO X Gaming Keyboard Released! Three different replacement key-switch kits with different key feel are also available.
Logitech Corporation will release the PRO X Gaming Keyboard ("PRO X") and the GX Clicky, GX Tactile, and GX Linear key switch kits for PRO X from the Logitech G gaming brand on November 14, 2019 (Thursday). The reference price is 19,800 yen for the PRO X and 6,930 yen for the key switch kit for PRO X (all tax included).
PRO X
The PRO X is the first Logitech model to support key-switch replacement, in addition to its originally developed keys suitable for high-speed input and tenkeyless design.
Logitech's first keyboard with interchangeable key switches
The key switches are equipped with "clicky" keys with a pleasant clicking sound. In addition, the company has supported key-switch replacement in consideration of performance improvement through key-switch customization. The lineup of keyswitch kits (sold separately) includes three types: "Tactile," for precise key presses with a good feel, "Linear," for smoother typing, and "Clicky. With the included tool, users can place different types of key switches by themselves.
Numerical keypad-less design for easy portability
The keyboard is also compact, with no numeric keypad, so it can be used on a small desk to provide space for a mouse. The cable is detachable for convenient carrying of the keyboard.
12 programmable function keys
Complex actions and frequently used commands can be registered on the Logitech G HUB* software (download required). The Game Mode button in the upper right corner of the unit can be customized to disable keys that are not used during games.
LIGHTSYNC technology is included to provide a variety of RGB lighting with approximately 16.8 million colors.
Logitech G HUB software allows users to adjust the animation effects and hues of the RGB lights to enhance the immersive experience with lighting that is linked to the game, or to color-code only the keys used in the game individually. Lighting patterns can also be saved on the keyboard itself.
Logitech G Brand Ambassador/Game Caster Taiga Kishi comments
Logitech G brand ambassador and game caster, Mr. Taiga Kishi, has also commented on the PRO X.
(Original text is below.)
I have touched various keyboards, but because of my preference for ten-keyless keyboards, I mainly used the original PRO gaming keyboard. As a fan, I am happy to see the PRO keyboard evolve into the "PRO X". The PRO X has the option to switch to the keyswitch of your choice, which allows for new customization, such as having certain keys on different keyswitches.
Personally speaking, after a few days of touching the clicky in its initial state, I went linear, which is my preference for the keyswitches I mainly use, such as the WASD area, the shift key, and the space key. I found that my pinky finger tends to be more forceful, which may be a habit of pressing, and considering the burden of fatigue, I changed to Tactile, which is familiar to me. Recently, the space key has also been changed to tactile.
I think that most of you have been playing with only one keyswitch, but I have learned from my own experience that changing specific keys can lead to a surprising performance improvement, and I encourage you to try it. In my case, I used a different set of keyswitches based on my understanding of my hand habits, but it is possible that a set preferred by gamers around the world will be discovered in the future. I hope you will try to customize the keyboard to your liking!
