Jiro-style ramen restaurant "Ramen Butayama Ueno-ten" opens today, April 16!

Jiro-style ramen restaurant "Ramen Tono-Yama Ueno" opened today, Tuesday, April 16, 2012. The location is along Chuo-dori Avenue, between Suehirocho and Ueno-hirokoji stations on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. Near "Ippudo Ueno-Hirokoji Branch" between Suehirocho Station and Ueno-Hirokoji Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. It is the former site of Ramen Yotsuba Ueno-Hirokoji.

Ramen Tono-Yama is a Jiro-inspired ramen restaurant featuring a pork bone-based soy sauce broth and a dynamic serving of chashu pork.

The menu includes the following items

Small ramen (250g noodles, 2 pieces of pork): 780 yen (tax included)
Small buta (250 g of noodles, 5 pieces of pork): 980 yen (tax included)
Double small buta double (250g noodles, 8 pieces of pork): 1,130 yen (tax included)

Mini ramen (125g noodle, 2 pieces of pork) 730 yen (tax included)
Mini buta (125g noodle, 5 pieces of pork) 930 yen (tax included)
Mini buta double (125g noodle, 8 pieces of pork) 1,080 yen (tax included)

Other toppings include a soup-less change for 100 yen (tax included), a raw egg for 50 yen, powdered cheese for 50 yen, a piece of pork for 80 yen, meat kasu abura for 50 yen, aji-tama for 100 yen, spicy chives for 100 yen, white onions for 100 yen, rice for 100 yen, large rice for 150 yen, extra noodles (125g) for 100 yen, and 5 pieces of quail for 100 yen. 100 yen, "5 quails" 100 yen, "limited toppings" 50 yen, "limited toppings" 100 yen, "limited toppings" 200 yen, "miso mountain" 100 yen, "black oolong tea" 200 yen, etc. (*all incl. tax).

Note that the restaurant's small ramen is about the size of a large bowl of ramen at a typical ramen restaurant, so small or mini ramen is recommended for first-time visitors to the restaurant.
