Popular BL "Etrandse by the Sea," which depicts the first love between an aspiring novelist and a boy, will be adapted into a theater anime! To be released in the summer of 2020 at BLUE LYNX!

BLUE LYNX, an anime label specializing in BL (Boys' Love), has decided to release another theatrical anime.

The new release is "Etrandse by the Sea" (published by Shodensha), an original story by Kii-Kanna, which depicts the first love between a boy and an aspiring novelist on a remote island in Okinawa.

The book is filled with many elements, such as the delicate illustrations by Kii, who is also a former animator, the two characters' endearing love story, and the people and scenery of Okinawa that tenderly embrace the two. After reading the book, many people were sure to be "healed" and gripped by the book. Finally, the third work in the "BLUE LYNX" series will be adapted into a long-awaited animated feature film.

For this theatrical anime adaptation, the author Kii himself supervised the entire work and designed the characters. Production will be handled by Studio Hibari, a long-established animation studio that has produced the TV anime "Major" and "Monster Strike. Akiyo Ohashi, who directed "Danganronpa The Animation" and showed her fresh directing skills in the full animation PV commemorating the release of the first volume of "The Land of Jewels," has been selected to direct the film.

The author Kii himself drew a super teaser visual for the film version of this work, and also commented on it.

A super special trailer has also been unveiled. Furthermore, it has been decided that advance theater tickets (paper tickets) with a bundle of this work will be sold at the "BLUE LYNX" booth at the animate girls festival (AGF) to be held on November 9 and 10, 2019.
The bundle includes a miniature colorful paper with the theme of "cat" drawn by Kii-san, in reference to BLUE LYNX.
A limited number of advance theater tickets (paper tickets) with this bundle will also be available for mail order at the "BLUE LYNX" special mail order page (in the Noitamina Online Shop) starting on November 15 (Fri.).

The theatrical release is scheduled for the summer of 2020, and more details will be announced soon.

Visuals newly drawn by the author, Kii Kanna, for the film's release

The story is about Shun Hashimoto, an aspiring novelist, and Mio Chika, a boy with an impressive, slightly melancholy expression.
The drawing shows their daily life on a remote island in Okinawa, surrounded by beautiful nature.

Kii Kanna's Comment

Hello, my name is Kanna Kii.

Thanks to all of our readers, ETLANZE will be made into a movie!
I am also working on the production together with all the staff members.

Originally, I should type some nice comments here, but all I can recall is eating the sweets I received at meetings, at discussions, and on the drawing floor.

The original creator generally eats nothing but sweets, but the staff members work hard every day to create something good.

The new world of Etrancée is being created by such a peaceful studio and friendly staff, so please look forward to its debut in a little while!

<About "Etrandse by the Sea

A heart-warming boys' love story.

Shun Hashimoto, an aspiring novelist, and Mio Chika, a boy standing gloomily by the seaside. The comic "Etrandse by the Sea" (written by Kii-Kanna and published by Shodensha), which has captured the hearts of many readers withits depiction of the first but frustrating relationship between these two, will finally be adapted into a theater anime by the BLUE LYNX label in thesummer of 2020.
The author, Kanna Kii herself, will supervise and design the characters for the anime adaptation.
Production will be handled by Studio Hibari, a well-established studio that specializes in 2D and 3D animation.
The film is directed by Akiyo Ohashi, who directed "Danganronpa The Animation" and showed her fresh directing skills in the full animation PV commemorating the release of the first volume of "The Land of Jewels.

The drama between the two and the beautiful nature of Okinawa are painstakingly depicted with attention to light, color, sound, and everything else.
The quiet repetition of the sound of waves. The star-filled sky. The time that flows slowly.
On a remote Okinawan island that embraces all who visit, a pure, warm, but clumsy love is nurtured.
