The release date of "Violet Evergarden the Movie," a completely new movie version of the TV anime "Violet Evergarden" produced by Kyoto Animation, has been set for January 10, 2020 (Friday). In conjunction with the release date, a special trailer, key visuals, work information, cast and staff information, and director's comments were also released.

Violet Evergarden" is an anime work based on the novel by Kana Akemi (KAESMA Bunko/Kyoto Animation), which won the first grand prize at the "5th Kyoto Animation Grand Prize" hosted by Kyoto Animation. The director is Taichi Ishidate, who directed "Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE-", the series composition is by Reiko Yoshida, who wrote the screenplay for the movie "聲の形", etc., and the character design is by Akiko Takase, who was in charge of the illustrations in this work's library. The character design is by Akiko Takase, who also did the illustrations for the book. The main character "Violet Evergarden" is played by voice actress Yui Ishikawa, who played Mikasa Ackermann in "Shinkage no Kyojin.

Information about another story of Violet, "Violet Evergarden Gaiden -Eien to Jikotei Ningyo-", which will be screened for two weeks only starting this September 6, 2019 (Friday), has also been released. This one is directed by Haruka Fujita, who directed the series in the TV series.
