Interview] Aoi Eir is the most positive person ever!　She is living in the moment on her new album "FRAGMENT

Aoi Eir will release "FRAGMENT" on April 17, 2019, her fourth album in total and the first after resuming her activities. The concept of this album is to capture casual fragments of everyday life. The songs are created by a variety of creators, and are filled with Aoi Eir's life-size feelings.
Of course, Aoi herself also participated in writing the lyrics and music. Many of the songs express her natural self in a positive way, making this her brightest work to date!

What I was thinking about during my hiatus has now taken shape as an album!

─ ─ What I felt from the album as a whole was that it was a natural work that relaxed your shoulders.

Aoi: I think that the album is a result of the time I spent with myself during the break. I hope that you can listen to this album with a natural feeling, because it was created with the theme that I am who I am today by combining "fragments" of my feelings and encounters with people in my daily life.

───This album also includes single songs with tie-ups, so while there are cool songs that express the world of fiction, most of the new songs on the album were songs that made me feel everyday life.

Aoi: During my hiatus, I didn't consult with anyone, but I was thinking, "If I were to release an album next, I would like to make one that captures everyday life. When I resumed and decided to make an album, I said, "Actually, there is a theme I want to make," and the result was "FRAGMENT. It is an album that I wanted to make because I had a break.

─ ─ The new songs on the album are bright in terms of tune, and your artist image has changed a bit.

Aoi: There are definitely less aggressive and racy songs than usual. The jacket photo is also quite different from the previous ones; it is stylish yet simple, and has a lived-in feel to it (laughs).

─ There are two different outfits, a black knit and a white cut and sewn outfit, depending on the disc.

Aoi: The black knit and leather skirt is a bit more like the Eir Aoi we've seen in the past, but the white top, jeans, and bare feet on the Limited First Edition A is a new look. I don't think I've ever taken a picture of me barefoot before, and the outfit is the roughest I've ever worn.


The location of the photo shoot was in an apartment, so it had an everyday feel to it.

Aoi: That's right. The staff, designers, and photographer all shared the concept of "an album that gives a sense of everyday life," so I was able to express what I wanted in terms of visuals, and I think the album turned out well.

─ Of course, you were also able to share the concept with the creators who wrote the lyrics for the new songs on the album.

Aoi Yes, I told them exactly what I wanted, and they wrote the songs accordingly. I also co-wrote some of the lyrics that I wanted to add to the album, and we were able to create a consistent feel in terms of content.
