Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the birth of Pac-Man! In 2020, Pacman-related projects will be held on a worldwide scale!

NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the birth of Pac-Man in 2020 by designating January 1, 2020 (Wednesday) through December 31, 2020 (Thursday) as the "Pac-Man Anniversary Year. Under the theme of "Join the PAC", the company is developing a project to make "PAC-MAN" more familiar to people around the world.

Pac-Man" is an IP (Intellectual Property) that was released in 1980 as an arcade game machine and was recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most successful arcade game machine. The game caused an unprecedented boom in Japan and the U.S. in the 1980s, known as "Pac-Man Fever.

■Teaser Site and Official Theme Music Released
The teaser site will open on November 1, 2019, and information on the "Pac-Man" commemorative project will be posted as needed. The official theme song "JOIN THE PAC (Official Theme Song for PAC-MAN 40th Anniversary)" and its music video by world-renowned techno artist Ken Ishii will also be distributed worldwide.

Kipling, a brand of bags, accessories, and travel bags, and Pacman will collaborate on the Spring/Summer 2020 collection. Tastemakers will release a Pac-Man 40th anniversary version of the Arcade 1 Up electronic toy, which was a worldwide hit upon its release in 2018. It will be released in North America in May 2020, followed by sequential releases in other countries around the world.
