Hiroshima's hero Maple Kaiser, who is seriously fighting for underprivileged children, is on the move! The 14th edition of the local hero super compendium.

This month, we would like to introduce the noble activities of the Aki Senshi Maple Kaiser, the first local hero of Hiroshima Prefecture, and his exploits.

The 14th Aki Warrior Maple Kaiser, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chugoku-Sanin-Sanyo Region

Hiroshima Prefecture, protected by the Aki Senshi Maple Kaiser, is located in the Chugoku region, facing the Seto Inland Sea. The total population is 2,819,962 (estimated population, October 1, 2018). The prefectural tree is the maple, the prefectural flower is the maple, the prefectural bird is the avi, and the prefectural fish is the oyster (Hiroshima oyster). The prefectural capital is located in Hiroshima City. Under the system of government used from the Asuka Period to the early Meiji Period (1868-1912), Hiroshima Prefecture consisted of two provinces: "Aki Province" in the western part of the prefecture centering on Hiroshima City, and "Bingo Province" in the eastern part of the prefecture centering on Fukuyama City and adjacent to Okayama Prefecture. Because of this, there are some differences in culture and climate among the regions within the prefecture, and two dialects, Hiroshima dialect and Bingo dialect, are still used today. Maple Kaiser bears the name of Aki Warrior, which suggests that its main field is the area where Aki Province originally existed.

In the Sengoku period (1467-1568), the area was once home to Mori Motonaga Motonaga, the ruler of the Chugoku region who rose from a single feudal lord to the rank of feudal lord, ruling ten countries in the Chugoku region and part of Kitakyushu in a single generation. Motonaga was one of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Five Senior Generals, and was the commander-in-chief of the Western Army in the Battle of Sekigahara. Many of you may have heard of Motonari's famous anecdote, "The Three Arrows. Recently, he appeared as a beautiful swordsman in the popular "Sengoku BASARA" game and anime series (his attribute is fire → light), and he is known as a popular character among game girls.

Then, in the mid-Edo period, the area became the Hiroshima domain and came under the control of the Asano family. The Asano family was the original lineage of Naganori Asano, the famous Ako Ronin (Ako Warrior).

As the area is rich in historical anecdotes, it is also home to many famous places of interest. Hiroshima Castle, one of the 100 most famous castles in Japan, and Itsukushima Shrine, with its majestic Otorii gateway between the waves, are must-visit sightseeing areas.

In addition, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, supported by enthusiastic baseball fans, has been attracting attention in recent years, along with words such as "Carp Girls. Official Carp merchandise has become a very popular item among the subculture of influencers because of its tasteful design. On the gourmet side, Hiroshima is famous for its okonomiyaki and momiji manju, the soul food of Hiroshima residents, as well as oysters, anago meshi (rice with conger eel), and Onomichi ramen noodles, which feature flat noodles in a soy sauce broth topped with pork back oil.

Awakening and becoming a hero to face big problems

From now on, I would like to share with you a story from Maple Kaiser "himself" about his past experience and how he awakened as a hero.

Recently, we often see news and headlines about child abuse cases that make us want to cover our eyes.

Maple Kaiser is tackling this very sensitive issue of child abuse head-on. Why did he make such an activity his main focus?

The answer can be traced back to Maple Kaiser's own childhood. As a young boy, Maple Kaiser was abused by a relative and was sent to a children's home where he grew up. During this difficult time, he became obsessed with "Masked Rider," which was broadcast on TV. I especially liked "Masked Rider No. 2. Why "Masked Rider No. 2" and not "Masked Rider No. 1"? It is because when No. 1 is in a pinch, it is always No. 2 who comes to his rescue. The boy, who was helpless, wanted someone to save him. That is why he became a big fan of "Kamen Rider No. 2," who always came to the rescue when No. 1 was in trouble, and his actions were engraved in his heart.

Time passed and one day, when he became an adult, he saw an abuse case on the TV news. In June 2010, Maple Kaiser awakened as a hero as "Aki Senshi Maple Kaiser" in order to become a hero like "Masked Rider No. 2" who was engraved in his heart at that time, so that there would be no more children who feel the same way as him. He began his activities as a local hero to fight child abuse and started visiting orphanages in Hiroshima Prefecture as well as conducting child abuse prevention activities through events.

These activities caught the attention of city and prefectural officials, and in 2013, he was commissioned by Hiroshima Prefecture to become an official child abuse prevention character. He also became the official navigator of Hiroshima Prefecture's Orange Ribbon campaign (child abuse prevention activities) and has a regular radio program, raising awareness of child abuse prevention day and night in and outside of the prefecture.

A Hero Show for Adults and Children

Here is the story and setting of Maple Kaiser's hero show.

In 2001, a major earthquake hit the city of Hiroshima, causing the resurrection of the "Waya Empire," an evil army that had been sealed deep in the earth. The monsters of the empire were unleashed on the city of Hiroshima. The monsters set out to conquer Hiroshima in order to obtain the legendary "Golden Momiji Manjuu," which makes wishes come true.

They appear in various places and repeatedly do evil and try to take children away to the Wayah Empire.

The "Golden Momiji Manjuu" seems to have something to do with children's smiles and palms, which is why the monsters are relentless in their pursuit of them. To protect the children, the "Maple Fairies," who have been protecting Aki Province since ancient times, used their mysterious powers to create the "Aki Warrior Maple Kaiser," a hero of justice and an incarnation of the maple tree. Maple Kaiser throws himself into battle to protect the children and the golden maple buns from the monsters of the Waya Empire. Maple Kaiser's power increases a hundredfold with the children's support and the eating of Hiroshima's famous momiji manju, and he unleashes his special moves to defeat the monsters.

Still, the monsters do not give up, and they vigilantly pursue the children and the golden maple buns. Maple Kaiser's battle continues until the day he seals the Wayah Empire deep in the earth. The storyline of the event, ......, is something every child will enjoy. While presenting this hero show to the children, we also educate the adults who visit the venue with us about child abuse prevention. We also appeal to government officials to not only protect abused children, but also to take good care of them afterwards. We would like to continue to support Maple Kaiser for their noble activities.

The proceeds from the sales of Aki Senshi Maple Kaiser goods, other than expenses, are sent to orphanages.
