Cosplay photo report 120,000 people attended "Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fest 2019" with a wide variety of projects and cosplay photo reports.

The Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fest 2019, now in its sixth year, was held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, over October 26 (Sat.) and 27 (Sun.), 2019. On the day of the event, the entire Ikebukuro East Exit area, known as "Otome Road," was the stage for stage shows and photo booths, attracting 123,000 visitors.

The opening ceremony was attended by freelance announcer Misato Ugaki and cosplayer Enako, as well as Toshima Ward Mayor Yukio Takano dressed as Monkey D. Luffy from Eiichiro Oda's "One Piece" manga, Daisuke Yokozawa dressed as Masashi Yoshimasa from "Kingdom. Dwango Senior Managing Director and CCO, Minoru Sakashita, president of Animate, dressed as Erwin Smith from "Shinkage no Kyojin," and Naoto Goda, president of Sunshine City, dressed as Kid the Phantom Thief from "Detective Conan" took the stage.

Many cosplayers participated in the "Ike Hallow Cosplay Parade," in which a portion of the pedestrian priority road was opened for two days only. The sight of cosplayers dressed as various characters waving to the crowd along the street was a sight to behold. Many participants enjoyed themselves with friends while walking on the red carpet.







This year's main venue, Nakaikebukuro Park, was the site of the "niconico cospllection," in which cosplayers walked down a runway. Cosplayers dressed up as "Demon Slayer" Anjuro Purgatory and Sydney Allum, a character from "Final Fantasy XV," were on display.






In addition, the "Ikehalo DJ Party" was held at two live houses, where cosplayers could enjoy anime songs and VOCALOID songs, and the final judging of the "Cosplayer Of The Year" contest was held to discover cosplaying talent.

This year's Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fest 2019 featured many events, and as many as 21,000 cosplayers participated, many of whom enjoyed taking photos in the Sunshine City area.
