The third series of the TV anime "Kingdom" will begin airing on NHK Sogo in April 2020!

It has been decided that the third series of the TV anime "Kingdom" will be broadcast on NHK General from April 2020. In addition, a comment from the original author, Yasuhisa Hara, and a newly drawn illustration have arrived.

This TV anime is based on the popular manga "Kingdom" serialized in Weekly Young Jump (published by Shueisha). The original comics have sold more than 45 million copies and will be adapted into a live-action movie in April 2019.

The story is set in China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period and follows the adventures of a boy named Shin, who aspires to become a great general, and a young king named Eisei, who later becomes the first emperor of China. The second series aired from June 2012 to March 2014 on NHK BS Premium.

Now, the long-awaited third series will be broadcast on NHK Sogo from April 2020 under the supervision of Yasuhisa Hara and with a new staff. In the third series, the Qin Dynasty will enter the largest scale battle in the history of "Kingdom," as the Qin Empire confronts the onslaught of the Imperial Army approaching the royal capital of Qin Dynasty, Hamyang. The story is colored by the battles of Nobu, Eisei, and other famous generals.

The third series of the "Kingdom" anime series will be broadcast! It has been five and a half years since the last series, and I have been involved from the very beginning in the staffing of the production team, and we have started with a completely new team! Production is currently underway to rave reviews, and I am confident that the script, artwork, and music will meet everyone's expectations for the animation. The story will finally begin with a joint military version!
