Donations were given to KyoAni and the disaster-stricken areas - a report on the "Charity Photo Session" where popular layers such as "Enako" and comedian R Fujimoto gathered!
A "Charity Photo Session" organized by cosplayer Enako was held at Star Rise Tower in Minato-ku, Tokyo, on November 4, 2019.
At last year's "Charity Photo Session," a total of 2.68 million yen was donated to the areas affected by the torrential rain disaster in western Japan and the earthquake in eastern Hokkaido through the Japanese Red Cross Society. This year, donations are scheduled to be made to Kyoto Animation, the Japanese Red Cross Society, and animal welfare organizations.
Continuing from last year, Enako, Rosiel Hiromasa, Kokoro Shinozaki, and Ayaki Miyamoto appeared at the photo session. In addition, Sayaka Nitotori-who has garnered attention for her Insta-gravure, Chinese-born cosplayer Kitaro, who won the grand prix in the "Next Generation Cosplayers National Audition", and pin comedian R Fujimoto. Also participating in the event was pin comedian R Fujimoto.
One of the highlights of the photo session was the cosplay costumes provided by various companies. Enako was Haruhi Suzumiya from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" in the first part, and Black Magician Girl from "Yu-Gi-Oh! In the last part, she cosplayed as Rem from "Re:Zero kara Hajimari no Isekai Seikatsu".
Enako looked back on the event's history and said, "This is the second time we have held this event since last year. I have continued to have careful meetings with the models and staff since the last time, and we have made it this far. I hope we can continue to have fun until the end of the event, which will consist of three parts. Regarding the donation, he continued, "There have been painful incidents and disasters. All proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross, KyoAni, and animal welfare organizations. It is the result of the cooperation of our models and participants, so it is filled with our feelings. We would be happy if you could use it for any purpose," he said.
R Fujimoto, who stood out from the crowd that day, commented, "I understand most that I am out of place," and then looked at the audience with a glint in his eye, saying, "As a Saiyan prince, I have been photographed for a lifetime, and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. During the photo session, the fans were thrilled by the fan service, changing poses every minute. Sweating profusely, he met the expectations of the participants who had gathered for the event.
I was nervous because it was my first time to participate, but everyone was so kind to me. In the first part, she was dressed as a succubus, and in the second part, she was dressed as a nurse with a lot of zippers on her nurse's uniform.
Ms. Miyamoto, who appeared in her "Blue Dragon" costume from Setsuna and M Project, a "restorative surgeon redo," was friendly and approached the attendees. In an interview with the press, she said, "I am grateful to be invited back like this. I was reminded once again of Enako-san's power," he said in praise of her.
Ms. Shinozaki, who cosplayed as Anne Yamasaki from "GANTZ," Diane from "The Seven Deadly Sins," and Metatron from the game app "Monster Strike," and appeared in all parts, said, "I hope these activities will expand in the future. I would also like to do my best to cooperate in any way I can," she said, showing her continued enthusiasm for charity activities.
Kitaro, a cosplayer visiting Japan from China, appeared in costume as Elizabeth Lyonesse from "The Seven Deadly Sins" and Archangel Gabriel (beast divinity) from "Monster Strike. Although she still had difficulty communicating in Japanese, she communicated with the participants through eye contact and hand gestures, and received a large number of flashes.
I am happy to have been able to cooperate as a cosplayer," said Rosiel with a smile, "I think it was great that Enakorin approached me and we were able to cooperate together, something I could not do alone. I would like to cooperate with them again.
In recent years, photo session events have been held in various locations, both in urban and rural areas, but this "Charity Photo Session" was held within the unusual framework of a charity event.
The event attracted a full quota of 300 people, partly because of its rarity and partly because cosplayers, who rarely appear at photo shoots, were invited to perform.
The "Charity Photo Session," a collaboration between many companies and popular cosplayers, is expected to further expand the scope of cosplayers' activities.
