From the Latest Gunpla to a Helicopter Kit that Really Flies! The 58th Shizuoka Hobby Show" Fastest Report Part 1!

The 58th Shizuoka Hobby Show is being held at Twinmesse Shizuoka in Shizuoka Prefecture from May 8 (Wed) to 12 (Sun), 2019.

This event is one of the largest model and hobby events in Japan, held annually in Shizuoka Prefecture, where many model manufacturers gather. This year, a total of 84 companies plus 2 organizations exhibited.

In past years, the first two days of the four-day event have been for vendor business meetings, and the second two days are open to the general public. This year, however, an additional day was added to the schedule to allow local elementary, junior high, and high school students to become familiar with the modeling culture.
Akiba Research Institute visited the "Invitational Day for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students" on the first day of the show and covered the booths and the students enjoying models.

BANDAI

Bandai offers a variety of character kits, including Gunpla. The highlight of the show was the RG "Nu Gundam. Also on display for reference will be the MS Penelope from the "Mobile Suit Gundam: Senko no Hathaway" movie. The Penelope, in particular, is a large-volume kit that overturns the common wisdom of the 1/144 scale HGUC brand! Many visitors captured its majestic appearance on their cameras.
In addition, there were "Gundam 0080" related kits, the "THE ORIGIN" version of Char's Zaku I limited package, and Gundam Sandrock & Maguanac from "Gundam W." The "Gundam SEED DESTINATION" kit was also on display, and a "Gundam SEED DESTINATION" kit was also on display. MG Gunner Zaku Warrior from "Gundam SEED DESTINY", and many other interesting new items!

There is also a full lineup of other character kits. The HG "Magna Saurer," which can be combined with the much-talked-about Gozaurer, and new items from the "Danball Senki" series attracted a lot of attention.

Many items were sculpted from popular characters, and in the "Figure-rise" series, which specializes in anime and special effects, Asuna from "Sword Art Online" was included in the lineup. New product development can be expected.

The new "Puchirittsu" series, in which miniature characters can be easily assembled and completed, also made its debut. The "FGO" characters have become cute plastic models!

New SD Cross Silhouettes also made their debut. The key to victory is "GaoGaiGar!

The "Space Battleship Yamato" series and the "Star Wars" series were also on display. Although miniature in size, the fine details are wonderful.

And a new series, "Light Trailer Busou," which follows the much-talked-about "Neko Busou," made its debut!
An armed light truck suddenly appears in the midst of an idyllic rural landscape. The surrealistic diorama is a must-see.

And then there is the romantic plastic model original project "30 MINUTES MISSIONS.
This product, which can be freely customized on the theme of mass-produced machines, is scheduled to go on sale around July.
