Pokemon's "Ishitsubute" collaborates with Iwate Prefecture! Let's GO! Ishitsubute in Iwate" will be held!

Iwate Prefecture and Pokémon will collaborate to conduct a campaign titled "Iwate Prefecture x Ishitsubute 'Let's GO! Ishitsubute in Iwate'" using the Pokémon "Ishitsubute" and other "Iwa" type Pokémon that have been named "Iwate Support Pokémon" by Iwate Prefecture and Pokémon Co. Iwate Prefecture and Ishitsubute," using the Pokémon "Ishitsubute" and "Iwa"-type Pokémon.

Iwate Prefecture and Pokémon will collaborate to conduct a campaign using the Pokémon "Ishitsubute," which has been named "Iwate Support Pokémon," and other "Iwa" type Pokémon.

The campaign will start on Saturday, June 1, 2019, and will include a stamp rally, sales of collaborative goods made in the prefecture, and many other activities.

Today, Tuesday, May 14, 2019, Iwate Prefecture and Pokémon Co., Ltd.
signed a partnership agreement on(1) tourism promotion, (2) increasing consumption of prefectural products, and (3)recovery from theGreat East Japan Earthquake and other disasters.
Upon the signing of the cooperation agreement, Pokemon "Ishitsubute" was appointed as the "Iwate Support Pokemon. From now on, Ishitsubutewill be used as an "Iwate Support Pokémon" to enliven Iwate Prefecture through a variety of activities.


<Reasons why Ishitsubute was chosen
Ishitsubuteis a Pokémon thatis highly recognized by Pokémon fans, as itfirst appeared in the 1996 game "Pokémon Red and Green," which can be said to be the origin of Pokémon, and was also the handheld Pokémon of Takeshi, a friend of the main character Satoshi, in the anime.
It has the "rock" type among 18 types, and its appearance of a "rock" with a "hand" on it symbolizes a "rock.The appearance of the "hand" on the "rock" also symbolizes "Iwate," so "Ishitsubute" was chosen as an "Iwate Cheering Pokémon.

Ishitsubute, which acts as the "Iwate Cheering Pokémon," has been given the nickname "Master Ishitsubute" because it is the first of many "Iwa"-type Pokémon.

A Pokémon that appears in the "Pokémon" video game series.
It is often found on mountain roads and is mistaken for a pebble. It climbs steep cliffs using both hands andsleepssoundly with half of its body buried in the ground.It boasts of its sturdy body, and competes with its friends to see how hard it is. When angered, they wield a genkotsu (a metal fist).
A long-lived ishitubute becomes rounded with its horns removed. The roundness makes it easy to hold, but it is too hard and heavy to throw at each other, making itvery dangerous. It evolves into Goron and Goronha.
There is another form that lives in the Alola region.

(2) Collaboration illustrations of "Ishitsubute" and "Iwate Pokemon
Illustrations of Ishitsubute that are unique to Iwate Prefecture appeared in the "Iwate Prefecture x Ishitsubute" initiative.
The illustration was created by Mr. Yudai Ogasawara, a graphic designer and illustrator who is the creator of the Iwate Prefecture sightseeing character "Wanko Kyodai" and is active mainly in Iwate Prefecture.
With his unique gentle touch, Mr. Ogasawara has drawn Ishitsubute and other "Iwa-Pokemon".
The illustrations will be used in a variety of "Iwate Prefecture x Ishitsubute" initiatives and in collaborative goods made with prefectural products.

Profile of Yudai Ogasawara
Graphic designer and illustrator, born April 4, 1969 in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture.
He is active in graphic design for books, pamphlets, posters, etc., as well as character design and illustration. He created the Iwate Prefecture sightseeing character "Wanko Kyodai.


(3) Released the "Iwate Prefecture x Ishitsubute" image song!

The image song for the "Iwate Prefecture x Ishitsubute" initiative, "Iwate and Hands! Iwate! Ishitsubute! has been produced.
The song is a lighthearted "rock" style song withlyrics about Iwate Prefecture and Ishitsubute, and isperformed by Kazuo Sato of thepopular rock band"SaToMansion" from Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture.The vocalist is Kazuo Sato of the popular rock band "SaToMansion" from Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture.
An animation video featuring an illustration of Ishitsubute drawn by Yudai Ogasawarawas released onYouTube.
