Mini-anime "Zashikiwarashi no Tatami-chan" Shiori Izawa, Satomi Arai and Tomokazu Sugita will be the main cast!

The main cast of the mini-anime "Zashikiwarashi no Tatami-chan," which will be directed by Rensuke Oshikiri, a popular manga artist known for his "High Score Girl" series, has recently been determined.

Tatami-chan" is a mini-anime production project currently being funded through "Make", one of the largest crowdfunding services in Japan. The project is raising funds to support the immediate living expenses of Tatami, who has just moved to Tokyo, for approximately two months from Friday, October 25 to Wednesday, December 25, 2019. In addition, those who support Tatami's life after moving to Tokyo will receive a wonderful return gift from Tatami as a token of her gratitude.


And this work is written by manga artist Rensuke Oshikiri, who wrote the original story, screenplay, and characters, and is directing the film for the first time. The animation is produced by ZERO, which has produced such well-known works as "Battery" and "My roommate is sometimes in my lap, sometimes in my head. The story is about a cute guy who calls for the happiness of the main character.

The story begins when the main character, Tatami-chan, a cute yokai (demon) that brings happiness, longs to live in Tokyo and moves to Tokyo from Tono in faraway Iwate. Living with the evil spirits of rivers and mountains (ghosts, goblins, and humans) living in Tokyo, Tatami-chan's growth is depicted through various encounters in a sometimes heartwarming, sometimes satirical story.

The main cast of "Zashiki Warashi no Tatami-chan" has now been unveiled. Despite her cute appearance, the main character, Tatami-chan, is played by Shiori Izawa, who is full of energy and has a sharp tongue. Satomi Arai will play the role of the landlord of the shabby apartment Tatami-chan rents in Tokyo, who is longing to meet a nice man. Tomokazu Sugita will play the role of the tickler monk who lives in the same apartment as Tatami and makes it his life's mission to tickle people.

She is my favorite yokai! And she is a Zashiki-douji! A good yokai who lives in a house and makes the house owner happy, and I want one in my family! And yet...Tatami-chan is so peculiar~~! As expected of Oshikiri-sensei. I was recording seriously, but there are some scenes that I couldn't stand and laughed. Now, where are they? (laugh) I was excited to see from what angle my co-stars would throw the ball, and I had a lot of fun playing the role. I did my best to create a lovable character who is cute in a cute little way, and I am looking forward to unveiling her to you all. Please support me by all means.

Oshikiri-san said to me, "Ms. Arai, please play the role of a nun who is covered in troubles. What a terrible request already...am I really going to do it? ...... I'd be happy to do it, I'm a big fan of that kind of thing! So, I was so embarrassed that everyone was too embarrassed to look at me. I've never seen Shiori laughing so much during recording. Sugita-kun's act was foul. Well, it's terrible...that monk role, it's terrible. I couldn't contain my laughter and I was writhing in agony during the performance. I can't wait to see you all writhing in agony...!

I myself am perplexed by the fact that this project, which seems to have been made out of my semi-wanton selfishness, has really gotten underway. Directing an animation for the first time is a thrilling experience. Manga is basically a one-man project, but when it comes to animation, you need the help of many people. I was wondering if it was worth it to cut out someone's life, but I was determined to bring laughter to the audience. The cast members were smiling, so we are very pleased with the response, and we are eager to provide it to everyone as soon as possible.
