Dirty Pair COMPLETE Blu-ray BOX" to be released on December 18!

The space opera milestone "Dirty Pair" is finally getting a Blu-ray BOX to commemorate its 40th anniversary!

The TV series, the movie, and the OVA series including "Dirty Pair FLASH" are all included in the Blu-ray BOX, and the first limited edition includes a 100-page booklet "WWWA Official Premium File" with a collection of beautiful copyright illustrations and newly recorded interviews with the people involved in the series. ─ ─ First of all, I couldn't get any testimony from the staff about the audition before you were cast, but was there an audition in the first place?

Tongu: I believe I had an audition, but I don't remember the specifics.

Shimazu: I checked my notebook at the time, and it said that the audition was in March. In fact, I think it had already been decided, and it was like a final confirmation for the two of us to play the role together.

Tonomiya (to Shimazu) That was at Central Studio?

Shimazu Yes, that's right. We were the only voice actors. Takachiho-sensei was there, and I remembered him saying he had hay fever at the time, so I thought it must have been in March, so I checked my notebook from that time.

Tonkan Eh? Takachiho-sensei, were you at the audition?

Shimazu You were there! After the audition, we all went for tea together, didn't we?

Tonmiya Oh, yes, that's right!

Shimazu But I don't remember if there was an individual audition before that. There is no record of it in my notebook either.

Tongu That's amazing (laughs). (Laughs) I remember enough.

Shimazu I'm taking this opportunity to rewatch the TV series, and our combination is exquisite. I can't believe I'm saying this myself (laughs), but I think you chose the best two people! I really enjoyed the conversation between Yuri and Kay while we were recording!

Tongu: Yes, it was. Yes, it was. It was a lot of fun!

Shimazu: Until then, you had played mostly boy roles, right?

Tongu: Yes. Yes, a lot. I mean, it was the first time for me to play a beautiful character like Kay (laughs).

Shimazu Tonomiya-san is naturally a big sister, and she stayed that way.

Tonomiya Ha ha ha ha ha (laughs) As she was?

Shimazu: No, I didn't mean it in that funny way (laughs).

(laughs) Tonomiya Kay looks beautiful, but when she speaks, she sounds more like a boy than a girl, so I didn't really consciously create her.

Shimazu I had never worked with Koichi Chiba before "Dirty Pair".

Tonomiya I was a student of Mr. Chiba's.

Shimazu What? You're good! (laughs) I envy you!

Tongu: He taught me at the Tokyo Announcing Academy. But he didn't use me for years after I graduated. That's why I was so happy to be used for the first time in "Dirty Pair".
