The theatrical animation project of the smartphone music game "DEEMO" is finally underway!

An animated feature film version of the globally popular smartphone music game "DEEMO" will be produced.

DEEMO" is a music game application for smartphones that was released on November 21, 2019 as a downloadable and packaged version of "DEEMO -Reborn-" for PlayStation 4, and has been downloaded a cumulative total of more than 23 million times worldwide.
This music rhythm game is based on the concept of a musical instrument, the piano, and incorporates a wide range of musical styles, from classical music with beautiful melodies to rock numbers, jazz, electro, and more, with approximately 200 songs. In addition to the quality of the music, the game has captured the hearts of many sound game fans around the world, especially in Asia, with its innovative and fun playing feel as if you were playing the piano, and its smoothness unmatched by other app games.

Pony Canyon will be exhibiting at ANIME-NYC 2019 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. During the panel "Rayark CEO Ming-Yang Yu Talks about 'DEEMO'" on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. local time, the company announced that it will be producing an animated feature film version of the globally popular game "DEEMO. The animation will be produced by I.G. Group, the production company that worked together on "Shinkyu no Kyojin".

The animation will be produced by Signal MD, which continues to grow as one of the leading I.G. port companies ("Hirunehime: The Unknown Watashi no Monogatari" and "CYBORG009 CALL OF JUSTICE"), and the leading Japanese animation studio that has produced many great animation works including the international hits "Shinkage no Kyojin" and "Ghost in the Shell" series. Production I.G, one of Japan's leading animation studios, which has produced a number of excellent animation works, including the world hit series "SHIN-GIANT" and "GHOST IN THE SHELL," will support the production.

Junichi Fujisaki, director of "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (script)" and "BLOOD+ (director, series composition, direction, script)," has been appointed as general director, and Shuhei Matsushita, an up-and-coming director, will direct.
The theme song and image song will be sung by Yuki Kajiura of "Sword Art Online" series, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica," "Fate/Zero," and "Kara no Kyoukai.

The film is scheduled for completion in 2020.
