UNIQLO to Launch "Pokémon"-Themed "UT GRAND PRIX 2019" Award-Winning UTs on June 24! Grand Prix winners will appear as dress-up items in the latest game!

UNIQLO will launch the UT Collection featuring the winning designs from the Pokémon-themed UT GRAND PRIX 2019 at UNIQLO stores nationwide and online starting Monday, June 24.

The theme of the 2019 UT GRAND PRIX, now in its 14th year, is "Pokémon," a global content loved around the world. From a record number of over 18,000 entries, 24 designs were carefully selected by a special team of Pokémon judges. The Grand Prix was awarded to a design featuring Gyarados and Koikking, which have appeared since the first generation of Pokémon, and which exquisitely expresses the appeal of the characters. In this article, we will introduce the winning designs and award-winning comments.

Furthermore, the Grand Prix winner will appear as a changeable item for the main character in "Pokémon Sword Shield" (Nintendo Switch / scheduled for release in winter 2019), the latest title in the "Pokémon" game series! You will be able to enjoy a matching coordination (?!) with the main character in the game. You can enjoy the matching coordination (!) with the main character in the game, so please look forward to it!

<UT GRAND PRIX Jury Team Comments

GRAND PRIX (Grand Prix) ]Li Wen Pei (Mainland China)

The theme of the design is "King of the Sea". What I like about it is that it is expressed in the image of a totem. As a fan, Koi-King was the first thing that came to mind, and I thought the matching of a very weak Koi-King that evolves into a strong Gyarados would fit the totem style of the design. I think I was able to express the contrast between weakness and strength, red and blue, etc.

Second Prize]mizukilobyte (Japan)
I thought it would be interesting to mix in an unknown with an eye test. Since the Landolt ring is a universal symbol, I hope people all over the world will enjoy it. I would also like to say thank you to Annon.

Third Prize]Emily (U.S.A.)
Since the T-shirt was designed for summer, I decided to create a design that evokes the feeling of "summer. I think the image of Pikachu relaxing in Nassy (palm tree) with a glass of juice in his hand could not be more summery. Also, Nassie was perfect for conveying the "tropical beach" atmosphere!
