Comments
Takako Shimura (Author)
The original work is an omnibus-style collection of modest works.
I am not in the middle of drawing it, and I am not trying to make it plain, but as a result, it is often described as plain.
I can only express my gratitude to the staff who found it among the many manga, decided to make it into an anime, and worked on it down to the smallest detail.
And you have combined some of my personal favorite short stories into one. I am truly bowled over.
I would be happy if you, the readers, could take a look at them.
Akira Kamimura (editor in charge)
This piece is more than 15 years old, but I feel that it is still a story that is needed today with a fresh brilliance that is not old at all.
Mr. Shimura's flat and gentle gaze gently shines a light on the feelings we cherish and the love of living day by day, even though they may be distorted from others' viewpoints.
I am truly grateful to everyone who is involved in the anime adaptation of this work with great love and understanding, and I am also very excited about it.
I hope many people will be able to see it!
Yusuke Terada (Producer)
I wanted to express on film that "any kind of love, any kind of life, everything is "normal,"" and that's why I raised my hand for this work to be made into an anime.
I believe that Mr. Shimura's flat, nonjudgmental, yet warm perspective can relate to the lives of many people living in this day and age.
For this year's animation, we have chosen "a story about someone who was once with you but is now far away. I would be happy if you could embrace your painful and loving memories in the theater while watching this work.

<Introduction
Everyday life is sometimes sweet and sometimes painful when you think of someone else.
The days when things are just the way they should be, will surely come.
The omnibus manga "Doukanaru Hibi" by Takako Shimura ("Hobo Son," "Aoi Hana"), a master of adolescent ensemble dramas, depicts various love stories in a light and delicate manner. Takuya Sato ("Asagao and Kase-san"), who is known for his poetic images and music direction, has made an animation version.
An ex-lover's wedding,
A teacher and a student at a boys' school,
a teacher and a student at a boys' school, a childhood friend in puberty who is going through a mental and physical change.
No matter who it is, no matter what form it takes, every love and way of life has equal value.
And the days when you clumsily cared for someone will surely become a lovely memory someday.
This is a collection of omnibus short stories that warmly depicts such "someone's love" with tender care.
